7723, also know by the codename Project 77, is the deuteragonist of the 2018 animated film based on the rage comic 7723 by Wang Nima, Next Gen. It is a robot who is a secret project created by Dr. Tanner Rice to recreate the concept of human emotions and memories, as well as to put a stop to Ares plans.
He was voiced by John Krasinski.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- Throughout the film, he seriously expresses his love and concern towards Mai Su, helping her look beyond her negative attitude towards robots.
- Despite being a robot, 7723 possesses a clear moral agency and personality to express emotions and memories like a human.
- After first meeting Mai, nearly sacrificed himself to defend her from threats after being pursued from Rice's lab.
- Destroyed a robotic toothbrush when it tried to force Mai to brush against her will.
- After Mai retrieves his backpack, he asked her if he could keep it to make sure he deserves it.
- Instead of making Greenwood grieve over Mai's survival, he told the latter that they should be friends.
- While he did go on a destruction spree with Mai Su, he subverts it by deleting all its weapon presets to protect his memories, while promising to make better memories with Mai and to avoid hurting anymore people after Mai got bullied at school.
- When Ares came to attack Mai and her mother, he only stopped Mai from saving her mother because he knew they wouldn't be able to save her at the moment.
- Convinced Ares that he is no more perfect than anybody else, proving that Ares only views himself to be superior to others.
- Wiped his memories so that he could utilize his weapon systems to fight Ares.
