Pure Good Wiki

9 (also known as Nine) is the titular main protagonist of the 2005 short film of the same name, as well as the 2009 movie based on said short.

He is voiced by Elijah Wood, who also portrayed Mark Evans in The Good Son, Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and Mumble in Happy Feet.

What Makes Him Pure Good?[]

  • Despite being responsible for the reactivation of the Fabrication Machine, 9 felt extremally remorseful and he desired to fix that mistake.
  • He decided to go back to the condemned factory to rescue 2 after he was kidnapped by a Cat-Beast, even after 1 announced him as dead.
  • He stops 7 from killing 1 in her anger, even after 1 admitted he attempted to sacrifice 2.
  • He and 5 rescue 1 from the Seamstress.
  • He arranges a proper funeral for 2.
  • He killed the Seamstress and rescued 7 from the factory.
  • After 6 told him to go back to the scientist's workshop to find "the source" before his death, he did as he said even after he had been killed right in front of both him and 7.
    • Even after 7, 3 and 4 agreed with 1 to destroy the machine; 9 still honored 6's final request.
  • He expressed shock and sadness every time a stitch-punk was killed and drained by the Fabrication Machine.
    • He also expressed instant regret after inserting the Talisman into the machine and killing and draining 2 on accident.
  • He showed sorrow upon seeing the scientist's message about him having sacrificed his life and soul for the sake of creating the stitch-punks.
  • After discovering the true origins of him and the other stitch-punks, he decided to sacrifice himself so that the others could reach the Talisman.
  • When 1 sacrificed himself at the hands of the Fabrication Machine, he quickly removes the talisman and uses it to attack, disable and defeat the machine once and for all.
  • After destroying the Fabrication Machine, he releases the souls of the 1, 2, 5, 6, and 8 who were previously drained by the machine from the Talisman, allowing them to finally pass on and restore life on Earth.
