Alice Johnson is a major protagonist in the A nightmare on elm street franchise, serving as the main protagonist of A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master and A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child. She is the titular dream master and arch enemy of Freddy Kruger.

She is portrayed by Lisa Wilcox.

What Makes Her Pure Good[]

In General[]

  • While it can be argued that some of the injuries she gives Freddy in the fifth film (ex: impaling him through the mouth with a medal rod, impaling him from behind with a demonic baby carriage before pushing him down a flight of stairs with said carriage and letting him get attacked and ripped apart by a group of maniacs) make her lethal. However, given how dangerous Freddy is as a dream demon, it makes sense that she would use these methods. Plus he immediately shrugs them off after receiving them. Another big reason she was justified was that in those instances, she was protecting someone. With her impaling Freddy through the mouth, it was to save Yvonne. In all the other instances, it was to stop him from getting to Jacob.
  • While she does have a brief moment in Dream Master where she fantasizes/day dreams about lashing out at her jerkish father and calls him a useless and drinking his life away and taking his anger out of her when he was berating her for the food she gave him , she never actually goes through with it, thus making this a heating up moment. Additionally, by the time of Dream child, her relationship with him has improved so she no longer dislikes him. Aside from this, she is shown to be selfless and brave and cares for her friends and family.c
  • Despite having to compete with Nancy, she still stands out forfreeing the souls of Freddy’s victims (including her friends) , thus freeing them from a fate worst than death.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master[]

  • While in Sheila’s dream, she attempted to wake her up before Freddy could kill her.
  • Following Rick’s death, she eventually realized that her daydreaming was endangering her friends and family and made a promise to not day dream
  • Attempted to go to Debbie’s house to warn her and wake her up before Freddy could kill her.
  • Saved Dan from getting killed by Freddy in his dreams long enough for him to wake up
  • Defeated Freddy by restating the final verse of the dream master spell and showing him the evil inside himself, causing all the souls of his victims inside of him to rip him apart, thus finally freeing them in the process.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child[]

  • Warned Dan that Freddy had come back
  • Following Dan’s death, he informed her other friends about Freddy and the threat he posed
  • Used her dream powers to save Mark from getting killed by Freddy
  • Despite Yvonne not believing her when she claimed Freddy was coming for her son and even knocking out the research papers on him out of frustration, she never held any anger towards her.
  • Saved Yvone from getting killed by Freddy in her dreams.
  • Convinced Jacob in her dreams that Freddy was bad and to not trust him
  • Advised Yvonne to go to the abandoned asylum and release Amanda's spirit, resulting in the latter being able to enter the dream world and give Jacob the confidence to defeat Freddy using tongue beam and turning him into an infant so that Amanda could absorb him.
    • Additionally, by doing this, it led to Jacob freeing Dan, Greta, and Mark’s soul as well

Trivia[]

  • She and Nancy Thompson are the only A Nightmare On Elm Street heroes to be Pure Good.
