Amanda Krueger is the overarching protagonist of the A Nightmare on elm street franchise. She is a nun and the mother of Freddy Kruger.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Pure Good?[]

  • In A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors, she helped Neil Gordon in defeating Freddy and trying to save the last of the elm street children by informing him that Freddy could be defeated by pouring holy water on his bones.
  • In A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream child, she helped give Jacob the confidence to defeat Freddy and save Alice by using a tongue beam to free Greta, Mark, and Dan’s souls from Freddy and turn Freddy into an infant.
    • Following this, she temporarily absorbed him back into her womb, despite how unpleasant it was due to Freddy trying to fight back and attempted to trap him there forever.
  • In Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash: The Nightmare Warriors, she (as a spirit) helped the adult Jacob and the spirits of the dream warriors defeat Freddy’s deadite army and prevent them from committing Omnicide.
  • Despite having to compete with Nancy Thompson, Alice Johnson, Tommy Jarvis, as well as Ash Williams, Wesley Carter and Jacob Johnson in the crossover comics, she still stands as one of the most admirable out of the charactets as she played a key role in helping the protagonists defeat Freddy in two different movies and in the comics.
    • In the case of Dream warriors, she was the one who informed Neil Gordon that Freddy could be defeated by pouring holy water on his bones, leading to him being able to do this and keep Freddy buried for an entire year.
    • In the case of the Dream child, if it’s weren’t for her, Freddy would have turned Alice’s unborn son into himself and cause more deaths. Because of this, he was able to live a normal life with his mother Alice and become the new dream master in the nightmare warriors (when she sacrificed herself), thus allowing him to summon Amanda and the dream warriors spirits to defeat the deadites as well as Nancy who went on to help Neil Gordon read the necronomicon properly and summon a worm whole which sucked Agent Carter and gave him the chance to rewrite history by signing the warrant to Freddy’s arrest.
  • During the final battle in nightmare warriors, she begged God for forgiveness for not having the strength to kill Freddy when he was on the birthing table before hand. Additionally, in the fifth film, she claimed Freddy’s birth was a curse upon humanity. While it can be argued that this might be too lethal. There are many things that make this not the case.
    1. She didn’t take any sadism in it.
    2. It’s heavily implied that her saying these things (both in the films and comic) were out of guilt for all the atrocities he committed.
    3. The fact she says this implies she did love her son and that she couldn’t bring herself to do it. Plus, in the nightmare warriors, after she and the dream warriors destroyed the deadite army, she calmly asked him to accept defeat and come with her to be judge by God and let the souls of the children (who reclaimed their souls) finally sleep.
  • While she is very serious, she never ourright darkens the mood of the story and if anything is portrayed as a beacon of hope against Freddy , especially in the nightmare warriors
