Amity Blight is the tritagonist of the Disney Channel animated series The Owl House.
She's the youngest of the prestigious Blight Family, starting out as a bully and rival to Luz Noceda. However, she turned out to be a victim of an unstable family and eventually became the complete opposite of her original character thanks to Luz, who would become her girlfriend.
She is voiced by Mae Whitman.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- While she used to have several corrupting qualities like being arrogant, jerkish, mean and somewhat hypocritical, the only reason she acted this way was due to pressure by her monstrous mother, making it more of her fault. However, after meeting Luz, she became kind-hearted and friendly as well as remorseful of her past actions. By the time of Season 2, her corrupting qualities got completely subverted after she stands up to her former mother, meaning that she never demonstrated such behavior ever again.
- Despite the high Admirable Standard, she passes it, since she gave Luz the light glyph to escape her nightmare, thus giving her a pivotal role in redeeming the Collector and defeating Belos.
Season 1[]
- After Luz revealed to her she was alienated back in the Human Realm, Amity felt remorseful over mocking her dream of being a witch and honorably undid the everlasting oath she placed on her, despite still disliking her.
- Even when she was a bully, Amity showed a soft spot for kids by reading and playing with toddlers in the Bonesborough Library. This act indirectly convinced Luz to try to befriend her. Despite telling Luz to leave her alone, it was implied she immediately became regretful over this.
- Stopped her twin siblings and Luz from causing trouble at the Bonesborough Library.
- Despite mistrusting Luz for accidentally reading her diary, she agreed to work together to return Otabin back to normal, before apologizing for her previous behavior after Luz gave her the fifth Good Witch Azura book, promising she will improve herself later on.
- While she was mad at Luz for stealing her wand, this is justified as it got Eda and Amity's older siblings captured by the Slitherbeast and she put Luz in a magical cage for her safety.
- She and Luz saved her siblings and Eda from the Slitherbeast.
- After she accidentally burnt down Willow's memories, she and Luz restored them, during which she finally revealed to Willow that the reason she ended their friendship is because her parents threatened her with banishing Willow from Hexside and apologized for not standing up for her, willing to take responsibility for her actions that she initially refused to do so.
- Although she had brutally beaten up Hooty off-screen, this was in self-defense since he annoyingly invaded her personal space, not to mention she didn't act hostile towards him in their later encounters.
- She helped Luz defeat Grometheus, saving everyone from being trapped inside their worst fears.
- Though she instantly mocked Boscha for her behavior, she only did this to defend Willow because she was mocking her.
- She convinced Willow and Gus to forgive Luz for her harsh approach on them before helping them in their game of grudgby against Boscha and her friends.
Season 2[]
- While originally not having any courage to stop her mother from getting Luz, Willow and Gus expelled from Hexside, she later saved Luz from being killed during the demonstration of the Abomaton 2.0 by her parents, before threatening her mother with destroying it in front of her investors if she won't return her friends back at Hexside, finally standing up to her.
- She tried to help Luz get information on Philip Wittebane and successfully found his diary, despite it being in the restricted section of library. While Luz would later unintentionally cause her to be temporarily fired, Amity bared no ill towards her and later showed her the echo mouse that ate Philip's journal, enabling Luz to get information on the Portal to the Human Realm.
- Despite Hooty kidnapping her to set her and Luz up, she was only concerned on what was going on instead of being upset over him. After Luz apologizes for it, she doesn't mind.
- Unlike Luz, who became (understandably) embarrassed by the tunnel of love Hooty made for them, Amity instead found it very charming. When Luz destroyed it out of fear of being embarrassed, Amity was willing to accept the fact Luz is not interested in her, but Luz soon corrected their misunderstanding and the two of them finally asked each other on a date, thereby stopping Hooty's hysterical rampage.
- She took care of Luz when she had a common mold and became concerned about her well-being despite Eda assuring it's not that harmful to her.
- She, Eda and King went to the Eclipse Lake to get the Titan's blood for Luz.
- Despite Hunter being her enemy, Amity took pity on him after realizing how similar they are and offered him sympathy, believing that being nice usually works for Luz. Unfortunately, Hunter rejects her offer of sympathy and tried to snatch the Titan's Blood away from her.
- She surrendered the portal's key to Hunter after he threatened to hurt Luz, but broke it to have some of the Titan's blood be leaked on her glove.
- She helped Luz in her attempt to sneak Kikimora out of the Coven Day Parade to reunite her with her family.
- Despite taking Luz's phone after she left it, Amity refused to look at her phone so she wouldn't invade her privacy. She later returns it to her.
- She convinced Luz to finally open up about her trip to the Human Realm, and comforted her over her failure and painful promise with her mother.
- When Luz felt upset at discovering that Good Witch Azura books appeared on the Isles because of Tibbles' scheme, Amity comforted her by saying they had fun coming up with theories.
- While she showed bitterness over Luz accidentally getting her in trouble with her father Alador, she quickly sympathized with her after learning that it was the anniversary of her father's death and she did it to distract herself. She then helped Luz pick up flowers to comfort her.
- She and Alador stalled the mutated Warden Wrath long enough for Eda and Luz to cure him.
- When she and her father are having heart-to-heart, she later makes up with their lost time by shaking hands and saying it's a start for their relationship.
- She, alongside the Hexside staff and other students, defeated the Emperor Coven's forces, who tried to forcibly brand all students with Coven sigils, thus saving them from being affected with the Draining Spell Belos planned to cast on the Day of Unity, which would cause everyone with a sigil to die. During this, she was also one of the students who stood up for Hunter, who redeemed himself by that point, despite them previously being enemies.
- While she was overprotective of Willow during attack on Hexside, she openly said that she didn't want to lose her again and was trying to make up for years of bullying her.
- She and her friends tried to sabotage the Abomaton supply by her mother for the Day of Unity. While she disowned Odalia, she was completely justified in her decision, given Odalia was willing to let everyone die from the Draining Spell and her overall abuse towards her.
- She tried to defend Luz from her mother when she badmouthed her girlfriend and became furious when she disapproved of their relationship.
- She, Willow, Gus and Hunter helped Luz in her fight against Belos.
- She tried to convince Luz to escape to the Human Realm after the Collector took over the Isles, since they were too weak to face him.
Season 3[]
- Although she and Willow destroyed the alarm clock that Vee showed to them, this was because they thought it was an explosive device and tried to save Vee from being blown up, with Vee awkwardly thanking them instead.
- She and Flapjack uncovered the map to the hidden vial of Titan's blood, thus enabling everyone to return back to the Demon Realm.
- When Luz finally confessed her unintentional role in Belos' plans, Amity, like everyone else, showed no anger towards her, understanding she was tricked like everyone else.
- She rejected Boscha's offer to become her friend again, and even told her she couldn't go back to her old self-centered ways like she wanted.
- She convinced Boscha to help her and her friends defeat Kikimora so they could get to the Collector and stop him.
- While being temporarily free from the Collector's control, she gave Luz the light glyph to free herself from the Collector's nightmare simulation. Thanks to Amity's help, Luz also freed Eda and King.
- While being turned into a puppet, she managed to create a light glyph to free herself, Willow, Gus and Hunter from the Collector's spell, before freeing Camila from this state so they could all protect the puppetized citizens in the Archives when Belos started to take control of the Isles.
- After the Collector saved everyone in the Archives, she was the first to forgive him for his actions.
- She and the other Demon Realm citizens threw a quinceañera for Luz as thanks for saving the Boiling Isles from destruction.
