Ann Halford is the main protagonist of the light novel, manga and anime series Sugar Apple Fairy Tale. She is a 15-year-old girl whose main desire is to become a Silver Sugar Master much like her deceased mother. However, she realizes she has to buy a warrior fairy so she could have protection as she went to Lewiston.
She was voiced by Yuka Nukui in the Japanese version and Celeste Perez in the English dub.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
- At the age of fifteen, she wants to become a Silver Sugar Master and take part in the Pull Soul Day in hopes of sending her mother's soul to Heaven.
- Unlike the people of Lewiston, she views fairies as friends.
- When she sees a worker fairy, Mythril Rid Pod, able to be killed by his abusive owner, she steps in, snatches his wing, and gives it to Mythril. Because of her act of kindness, Mythril becomes a traveling partner with her and Shall.
- She tries to offer the fairy friendship to Mythril but he declines, so she makes a promise to him that once she arrived to Lewiston and became a Silver Sugar Master, she would free him.
- While she had Shall Fen Shall as a slave, she did not like the implications of that and would rather befriend the obsidian fairy, eventually liberating him of servitude.
- Although she does slap Jonas across the face after they had both their pieces rejected, he did slather blood on her and left her to be bait for a pack of wolves, so it is understandable.
- After failing to become a Silver Sugar Master thanks to Jonas' tomfoolery, she goes to Philax to rebuild her reputation upon hearing that the Duke of Philax, William Alburn, would reward whoever makes a perfect sculpture of a fairy woman in a painting he owned. When Jonas gets abused by the Duke, she is forced to lie to Shall when Jonas threatened Mythril's life.
- She allows herself to stay behind and continue her work on the fairy sculpture. She does this despite the fact that Jonas had done nothing but antagonize her for a duration of the story.
- She saves William from being killed or imprisoned due to the royal family seeing him as a liability after he neglects his duty in Lewiston.
