Anne Weying is the deuteragonist of the 2018 Sony's Spider-Man Universe film Venom and its 2021 sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Former fiancee of Eddie Brock, Anne broke up with him after Eddie used her files to interview Carlton Drake.
She is portrayed by Michelle Williams who also played Glinda the Good Witch of the South.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
- While she used to work with Carlton Drake and Life Foundation, she didn't know about their true nature.
- Despite breaking up with Eddie, it was because Eddie went behind her back to use her files to interview Drake, which got them fired.
- While Anne was understandably angry with Eddie, she empathized with his situation and encouraged him to move past his flaws.
- Believing that Life Foundation infected Eddie with a parasite (actually Venom trying to bond with him), she called an ambulance for him.
- Saved Eddie from Venom as he unknowingly was killing him by using sound to separate the duo.
- When Eddie was captured by Life Foundation and was about to be killed by them, Anne intervened by bonding with Venom in order to save him.
- When Venom ends up killing the Life Foundation thugs while bonded to her, she was horrified to witness it.
- Disorientated Riot and Carlton Drake, thus giving Eddie and Venom the upper hand needed to stop them from invading the planet with symbiotes.
- She broke Eddie out of detainment when he was being questioned for his involvement in the crimes of Riot and Carnage.
- Convinced Venom to forgive Eddie despite his misgivings.
- She reunited Eddie with Venom when the two were separated, giving him the strength to defeat Carnage.
- She lacks all the corrupting/anti-heroic qualities that the rest of the characters in the Sony's Spider-Man Universe have.
