Anthony Higgs is a major supporting character who appeared in Metroid: Other M. He was an old friend of Samus Aran and had known her since she was a Galactic Federation Soldier, up until Ian Malcovich lost his life. He is the member of the Galactic Federation 07th Platoon, which is led by Adam Malcovich when they were sent to find out what was happening on the BOTTLE SHIP, which is where he meets with Samus again.

What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- Anthony Higgs is just as shocked over Ian's death in the Lusitania drive unit when it went critical, since Adam ordered them to dispatch it to prevent hundreds of other people from being killed, and eventually comes to terms that it was the right thing to do.
- He is the only member of the 07th Platoon who treats Samus Aran with respect and dignity and his referring to her as "Princess" is his way to express this. Additionally, he is the only one who is amused by her opening a Red Blast Shield with her missiles.
- Alongside Adam, Lyle Smithsonian, Maurice Favreau, James Pierce, and K.G. Misawa, Anthony helps to defeat a Brug Mass that was in their way.
- When he and the 07th Platoon find Madeline Bergman's name within the BOTTLE SHIP's computer database, he takes control of the situation and orders the group to find and protect her.
- He is grateful to her for coming to his rescue when he was almost killed by a Rhedogian.
- While Anthony likes to tease his friends from time to time, he doesn't go down the line of being a jerk and knows where to draw the line. If he does get on the nerves of someone, he will always apologize.
- While he shot Samus in the Geothermal Power Plant, it was only an accident as he tells her to move over as he was trying to aim at Ridley.
- He has saved Samus multiple times, such as from the Mystery Creature just outside the Exam Room when it was trying to impale her with its tail; it only took a while for him to shoot it off of her because his Plasma Gun takes a long time to fully charge. Another time was when Samus was being viciously attacked by Ridley in the Geothermal Power Plant, during which he fires a shot at the creature to make it release her.
- Though he sternly taunts and insults Ridley, it was done to get its attention on him so that Samus can regain her lost composure from a post-traumatic stress disorder episode, and he was ready to take it on in a battle even when he knew that he doesn't stand a chance and he doesn't do anything exceptionally ruthless to get the job done, he does what is deemed necessary to stop it. Additionally, Ridley often isn't a reasonable adversary as its violent side often kicks in and is always willing to severely torment, injure, or kill innocent people for its own amusement.
- While he shoots at a Magdollite with a Freeze Gun during his fall from the platform and towards the lava after his quick defeat by Ridley, it was justified as he could have lost his life like his fellow soldiers in the platoon and would have also permanently lost his chance to go a step further.
- When Anthony learned that the BOTTLE SHIP is set on a crash course for the Galactic Federation HQ, he took matters into his own hands and activated the emergency brakes and stopped the engines altogether, just before it entered air space, sparing thousands of lives of innocent people there.
- As Madeline Bergman was about to be arrested by the ringleaders led by the Colonel, Anthony was ordered to bring Samus off the BOTTLE SHIP, but he reveals himself to be alive and well since his scuffle with Ridley, and he reveals that he is in the 07th Platoon under the late Adam Malkovich's command to find and secure survivors on the ship, which was authorized by the Chairman of the Galactic Federation, and admits that he was the one who stopped the engines in the first place. Additionally, he used that authority to override the Colonel's and managed to take Madeline under his legal protection, which would strongly imply that Madeline would later give her testimony regarding the events and the corruption of the ringleaders.
- During the journey to the Galactic Federation HQ, Anthony notes just how crazy those events have been and he doesn't approve of the conspiracy involving the cloning of Space Pirates and the Metroids that happened there.
- Despite not being as admirable as Samus Aran, he has fewer resources than her and passes the admirable standards by doing his absolute best.
