Apple Kid is a supporting protagonist of the 1994 science fantasy video game Mother 2/EarthBound. He is an unpopular inventor living in Twoson and the archenemy of fellow inventor Orange Kid. He later becomes an ally to the Chosen Four, using his inventions to help them in their quest to save the world from Giygas.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- Unlike his rival Orange Kid, he is a humble man who strive to use his inventions for good and honor his deals, despite being bullied and neglected by the entire town.
- He create a Pencil Eraser for Ness that he and his friends are able to use to get past iron pencil statues blocking their paths, which helps them progress through their adventure.
- He creates a zombie paper which allows Ness to use it to trap the thousands of zombies in Threed and rescue all of its citizens.
- He creates a Yogurt machine that he tries to have delivered to Ness (though the incompetent deliveryman screws it up.)
- When rescued from the tubes in Stonehenge Base, he tells Ness where to find the Overcoming Shyness book, which would allow Ness to help cure the Tenda Village Elder.
- Alongside some of the Mr. Saturn, he helps Dr. Andonuts rebuild the Phase Distorter which allows the Chosen Four to travel into the past to defeat Giygas.
- During the battle with Giygas, he was among the first of the Chosen Fours' allies to pray for their safety, which would help them defeat Giygas.
- Although Dr. Andonuts does more support-wise, having invented the Phase Distorter and directly playing in role in defeating Porky in Mother 3, Apple Kid has less resources and stands out with his own niche, as well as the fact he was not around in Mother 3, so never got the opportunity.
Trivia[]
- He is the only EarthBound Pure Good not to be a playable character or even a fighter.
