B-12 is the deuteragonist of the 2022 cyberpunk video game, Stray.
They are a sapient drone with the consciousness of a human inside of them. Throughout the game, B-12 slowly but surely discovers who they truly were, all the while assisting in the Cat's journey through the dystopian society.
What Makes Them Pure Good?[]
- After allying with the Cat, they would proceed to provide him with support via translating the Companion's language as well as opening restricted areas.
- After being equipped with the Defluxor, they would proceed to protect the Cat from the incoming Zurks.
- After being surrounded by Zurks, they would use up all the remaining power of the Defluxor to try and protect the Cat, said action causing them to overheat and deactivate.
- They are shown to be kind and supportive, with them dubbing the Cat as their best friend and thanking him for helping them.
- They would ultimately sacrifice themselves by uploading themselves in order to open the outside, this act also abolishing all the Zurks and Sentinels.
- Despite being a drone with the programmed goal to open the outside, this does not give them morality issues for two reasons.
- Their mind is the remains of a human consciousness, making it more than likely that they have human morality.
- They question what the point of opening the outside even is, showing that they are able to lose hope and are not forced to accomplish their goal and is only doing so out of their goodwill.
- While allying with the Cat would mean it was complicit in some of their mischievous acts. B-12 plays no direct part in these acts, and takes no sadism in it.
