Barbie is a supporting character in the Toy Story franchise.
She is voiced by Jodi Benson, who also voiced Ariel in The Little Mermaid.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
- As she witnesses Andy's toys getting locked up, she could have chosen to stay in the comfort and safety of the Butterfly Room. Instead, she confronts Ken over it, which results in her getting locked up alongside her friends.
- In Woody's grand plan to break out of Sunnyside, she plays a crucial part, by feigning regret over confronting Ken previously. As a result, Ken lets his guard down and gets distracted for a good few hours, and Barbie eventually reveals that she was tricking him. She breaks Ken, who gives up information on how Lotso reset Buzz.
- She retrieves the instruction manual for Buzz from Bookworm, by pretending to be Ken in an astronaut suit.
- She embraces Ken after he no longer wants to be a part of Lotso's tyranny, who proposes a plan to make Sunnyside a better place.
- After her friends escape successfully, she works with Ken to make their vision of a better Sunnyside reality. From then, all toys went on a rotation between the Caterpillar Room and Butterfly Room.
Trivia[]
- While there are several iterations of Barbie present in the Toy Story Franchise (such as the Tour Guide Barbie of Toy Story 2), this article specifically refers to the Barbie previously owned by Molly Davis and distinguished by her major role in Toy Story 3, as this is the only one of them who has been approved as Pure Good.
