So Batman can't help me? Fine. In that case… let's see what Batgirl can do!
~ Batgirl's most famous quote

Barbara Gordon, also known as Batgirl, is a supporting character in the DC Animated Universe.

She is the daughter of Commissioner James Gordon, and as Batgirl, she is Batman's crimefighting partner and protegé after Robin. In the future, she becomes the new commissioner after her late father.

She was voiced by Melissa Gilbert in Batman: The Animated Series, the late Mary Kay Bergman in Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero, Tara Strong who also voiced Melody in The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea, Twilight Sparkle in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Twilight Sparkle's equestria girls counterpart in My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, and Talwyn Apogee in Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction and Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty in The New Batman Adventures, Gotham Girls, and Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman, and her younger self in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, and Stockard Channing in the first season of Batman Beyond before being replaced by Angie Harmon.

When it's implied he knows she's Batgirl, she hugs him.
  • She rescues Cassidy from the burning concert.
  • Although she pulled a lever that triggered a booby trap of the building exploding and causing a firebomb, she didn't know it would cause a fire and it truly was an accident.

      • She also tried to reason with her and asking her why she helped Joker, knowing that he’s not a good and sane person.
    • As Tim Drake was crying out of remorse for killing the Joker, she comes in and comforts him, even though he has just broken the no-killing rule. Although, he didn’t have much choice in the event. She and Bruce eventually turn Tim back to normal after rescuing him.
  • She became the new commissioner after her father died in the future.
  • After she tried to apprehend Terry after misbelieving that he murdered Mad Stan, she later realized her mistake and apologized to Terry for trying to apprehend him and supports him from now on.
