Beth Greene is a main character of AMC’s The Walking Dead. She is a supporting character in seasons 2 and 3, and a main character for the remainder of the series. Beth is also the tritagonist of the first half of season 5.

Beth is a teenage girl and was a farmhand on her family farm before and during the apocalypse. After the attack on the prison and the death of her father Hershel, Beth survived with Daryl, and during this, she was captured by Officer Gorman and forced to stay in the Hospital Memorial Grady. In an attempt to save Noah from being abused again by Dawn and her crew, Beth tried to kill Dawn, but she failed and got shot in the head by Dawn.

She was portrayed by Emily Kinney.

What Makes Her Pure Good?[]

  • She helped in making a grave for Otis.
  • While she tried to kill herself after all the walkers in the barn were killed and tried to convince Beth to kill herself with her as she wanted them to be togheter, Beth came to understand that life wasn't useless and apologized to Maggie for this.
  • Alongside Maggie, Beth helped in lightning the mood when the group got to the prison.
  • She stopped an argument between Carl and Lori, and told Carl that he shouldn't talk to his mother like the was he was doing it.
  • She comforted Carl after Lori's death.
  • She helped in taking care of Michonne from her gunshot wound.
  • She took care of Judith while the rest of the group went to rescue Glenn and Maggie.
  • She helped Tyreese's group get to the prison.
  • She gave Tyreese's group a shovel so they could make a grave for Donna.
  • She sang a song to the group to lighten the mood after the Governor attacked the prison.
  • She stops a fight between Glenn and Merle.
  • She helped in taking care of Michonne after she broke her leg.
  • She got the people in the prison into a bus so they could escape from the battle in the prison.
  • After getting the people into the bus, Beth went to find Judith.
  • Even after the attack on the prison, Beth didn't give up hope and believed that her friends and her sister were alive.
  • While Beth got angry at Daryl for stopping her from going outside the camp, even flicking off Daryl, she would never act this way again, and would apologize for it twice.
  • She comforted Daryl after she went on a drunken rage.
  • She decided to burn down a cabin with Daryl to make the latter feel better.
  • Even when they find a considerable amount of food, Beth still decided to only take a small amount of food they needed, and wrote a letter to thank the person that the food belonged to for it.
  • She helped in trying to save a man that Dawn brought to the hospital named Gavin Trevitt.
  • She helped in saving Joan after she was bitten.
  • She tried to stop Dawn's crew from beating up Noah.
  • She saved Noah from a walker, and was able to get him out of the hospital.
  • She tried to convince O'Donell and Dawn to keep Carol alive.
  • She stole medicine from Dawn's crew to save Carol's life.
  • She saved Dawn from O'Donell.
  • When Noah was going to go back to the hospital, knowing that Dawn would continue to abuse him and the other staff in the hospital, Beth decided to try to kill Dawn, sacrificing herself to end her abuse of power on the hospital.
  • Despite killing both Gorman and O'Donell, they were both out of self-defense as in the former's case, Gorman tried to rape her and in the latter's case he locked her and Dawn to kill them both to take over the hospital after the latter's death.

Trivia[]

  • Beth is the only The Walking Dead Pure Good to be an original character in the TV Show and not appear in the comics.
