“ | You're right, the law's not perfect, and those who make laws aren't perfect either, which just makes it worse, but, it's a never ending effort, with a purpose of intention of serving justice, what you've done is selfish, no what matter what killing people, is not an answer to anything. | „ |
~ Soichiro Yagami opposed to Light's ideal. |
Heroes who opposes the protagonists and the supporting characters of the protagonists in the stories they appear in. These heroes are not the same as Redeemed Villains as these heroes only opposed the protagonists and the supporting characters. While the most common is that Pure Goods be the protagonists in a story, antagonists can also count as long as they meet all criteria.
In some very rare cases, Pure Good antagonists can be the main antagonist of a story, given that all of the protagonists are villains and all of the antagonists are the heroes (e.g. Soichiro Yagami), as well as them opposing other heroes in a story arc before redeeming themselves (e.g. Sae Niijima).
They are the opposite of False Antagonists, although it is possible for them to be both if they act antagonistic a few times but are not a true antagonist of the story overall. Their darker counterpart are Villainous Protagonists
