Pure Good Heroes who suffer some sort of mental disorder that affects their behavior and personality. It doesn't necessarily mean that the hero is insane even though they do come across as such. These heroes are also Tragic, in a way that they are usually unable to understand what is right or wrong. Despite this, they have a sense of clear moral agency.
Not all heroes are mentally unstable to begin with. Some of them are, but others are sane, and a few are stable, but then suffers terrible experiences that cause their sanity to snap.
Examples Include:[]
- Dory, who suffers from short-term memory loss.
- Shoto Todoroki, who suffers from PTSD due to his troubled past of being abused by his father.
- Sans (Flowey Is Not a Good Life Coach), who displays symptoms of clinical depression.
- Twilight Sparkle (G4), who displays multiple symptoms of OCD.
- Michelangelo (TMNT 2012), who is confirmed by the creators of the show to have ADHD.
- Luz Noceda, who's confirmed to have ADHD.
- Shinji Ikari (Haddad062), who is as mentally traumatized as his original counterpart, although he recovered enough to have better control of it.
Note: Do not add the Dissociative category to Mentally Ill because this category is a subtype of mentally ill and it would be redundant as both of these categories are different in their own ways.
Pure Good heroes can be this if they do have an acceptable understanding of right and wrong and meet all criteria, despite their limited sanity and limited views on reality.
