These are characters who have developed an antagonistic relationship with a villain as a result of the villain wronging them in some way or another. In the case of Pure Good heroes though, their level of wrath, and especially their need to exact vengeance on the villain in question, is very limited, with the latter being practically nonexistent due to their virtuous nature. It's just that in addition to foiling or standing against them primarily for reasons like it being the right thing to do and to protect/save others, there's a layer of personal conflict to their dynamic.
