What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
- While she eats flies, they are not portrayed as sapient like the other animals in the story. She is not happy about having to eat them, and she uses her venom to render them numb and unconscious so they don't feel any pain.
- She shows kindness to all the other barnyard animals.
- She befriends Wilbur when she sees he misses his original owner and is lonely, and she becomes like a parental figure to him.
- When she finds out the Zuckermans are raising Wilbur for slaughter, she swears to him that she will save his life no matter the cost, weaving words into her webbing to fool the Zuckermans into believing that Wilbur is a miraculous and special pig.
- She always makes sure to stay out of the way so people will praise Wilbur and not her.
- As she reaches the end of her life, she still goes with Wilbur to the county fair to continue weaving the words.
