AHN AHM, JOHR DUN!
~ Chicken Scratch attempting to introduce himself as Jordan in "Healthy Food Helps us Grow".

Jordan Cook, better known as Chicken Scratch, is the tritagonist of the Amanda the Adventurer trilogy.

He as initially a human named Jordan Cook, who was close with his sister and was a fan of Amanda the Adventurer. He went missing without a trace one day due to Amanda the Adventurer. He and seven other missing children were taken to the Hameln Factory and placed in stasis, with Jordan becoming an unnamed opossum character.

Although at first it had seemed that Jordan was a feral creature who disrupted Amanda and Wooly's adventures by breaking, stealing, eating, or messing with their items, which was sometimes stopped by Riley Park, it was later revealed that he was just trying to get Riley's attention so he and the other missing children can be freed from the tapes. Throughout the third game, he consistently tried to get Riley and Amanda to realize Wooly's true nature.

He is also the brother of Joanne Cook, the best friend of Amanda the Adventurer, and the arch-rival of Wooly the Sheep.

He was voiced by Reece Themen.

What Makes Him Pure Good?[]

In General[]

  • Although he's less admirable than characters like Riley, Kate, or even Amanda herself, he has way less resources than all of them, as he is simply a possum limited to the cartoon realm who can hardly even speak.
    • Additionally, even though other characters, such as Amanda, are also limited to the tapes, they have special abilities.
  • While he was portrayed as an antagonistic and feral possum during Amanda the Adventurer 2, as he stole many things from Amanda and Wooly and attacked both of them on several occasions, he entirely subverts this by the third game, as he stops stealing from them, and becomes a close friend of Amanda. He even gives Wooly a seashell during the beach tape, and considering he knows of his true nature, he had no reason to do this.
    • Additionally, due to his feral actions, it could also be assumed he may have moral agency issues, though this is also completely subverted by the third game, as he was shown to be a competent person who knew what he was doing.
    • One could argue that his actions helped Riley solve puzzles to acquire more tapes.
  • While one could argue he is slightly lethal, as he brutally ripped Wooly's eye out of his socket, which caused immense pain for the latter, Wooly completely deserved this, as the third game reveals that he is nothing more than an obsessed and envious psychopath who kept Amanda imprisoned so he could live out his fantasy. Also, it's extremely likely Chicken Scratch did this to defeat Wooly, as it’s probable that he knew of his true nature at the time.
  • Overall, he is an extremely kind-hearted, admirable and selfless opossum who has no corrupting qualities that actually hold up.

Amanda the Adventurer 2[]

  • He attacked Wooly several times, likely in an attempt to defeat him, and ripped his eye out.
  • He tried to get his sister's attention after hearing her voice, although this was likely because he really wanted to see his sister again, it could also possibly be him trying to get her attention so she could free him.

Amanda the Adventurer 3[]

  • Throughout the third game, he does several kind deeds for Wooly, despite likely knowing that the latter is actually evil:
    • He offered Wooly some of his Strawberry Chews, possibly out of guilt for him having to be used as a stool for him.
    • Upon realizing that Wooly felt sad that no one brought him anything, he decides to give Wooly a shell, though the latter rudely threw it away after.
  • He constantly attempted to get Riley's attention so they could free him and the other missing children from the tapes.
  • He helps Riley override the Hameln security sequence by giving them hints on which levers they’re supposed to pull so they would be able to use the elevator.
  • He runs into the Scavenger Hunt tape and attempts to frantically warn Amanda of Wooly's true nature. He continues to do this for the rest of the tape, giving signs that Wooly is evil and pointing at him constantly.
    • Although he was killed by Wooly out of spite while he was doing this, his efforts were not in vain, as they helped Amanda realize Wooly's true nature.

Trivia[]

  • He, alongside Pilot Wooly, are the only Amanda the Adventurer characters to be ranked as Pure Good.
    • He is also the only one of the two to originate from the full game.
  • Ironically, his arch-rival, Wooly the Sheep, is ranked as Pure Evil.
    • The two are also opposites, Chicken Scratch is a sheep in wolf's clothing, as he was initially portrayed as a villain, but was later revealed to be a hero, whereas Wooly is a wolf in sheep's clothing, as he was initially portrayed as a hero, but was later revealed to be a villain.
