Chise Hatori (羽鳥 智世), is the titular main protagonist of the manga and anime series of The Ancient Magus' Bride.
She is a Sleigh Beggy who can passively absorb and generate almost unlimited magical energy. However, she has a frail body and would often collapse if she use too much magic, though this happen less often in the College arc. Her past started off as part of a happy, albeit poor, family with her parents and younger brother living a fairly normal life until her father decided to leave the family along her younger brother for unexplained reasons, which led her mother to commit suicide, leaving Chise all alone. An auctioneer named Seth Noel convinced her to sell herself, which lead her to meet her teacher and later husband, Elias Ainsworth.
She is voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki in Japanese and Dani Chambers in English.

Trivia[]
- So far, she is the one of two The Ancient Magus' Bride characters to be Pure Good, with the other being Philomela Sargant.
- Fittingly enough, they both had gone through similar character development as they both lost their parents when they were only toddlers and struggled to socialize with others, but eventually gaining more confident and self-esteem thanks to the supports from other people around them.
- Ironically, her English voice actress, Dani Chambers, also voiced Dahlia Hawthorne from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations, who's considered Pure Evil and is the polar opposite of her morality-wise.
