~ Christopher Thorndyke at the sneak peaks of the next episode (Japanese verion). |
Christopher Thorndyke is one of the two deuteragonists of the anime show Sonic X. He is the only child of tech CEO Nelson and actress Lindsey Thorndyke, grandson to Chuck, and nephew to Sam Speed. He tends to get lonely due to his parents being away from home for a long period of time due to their careers keeping them from being able to spend quality time with him.
He was voiced by Sanae Kobayashi as a child, Masakazu Morita as a teenager in the Japanese version, Suzanne Goldish as a pre-teen, and by Michael Sinterniklaas as a teenager in the English version.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- He saved Sonic from drowning in his swimming pool.
- He puts his friends and family first before himself.
- He helped out in defeating Dr. Eggman multiple times, despite lacking powers like Sonic.
- He figured out what “Appears under the moon. Disappears under the sun” meant as it referred to King Boom Boo and his lackeys, so he turned the Talisman to the sun side to free the prisoners, including Sonic, who proceeds to free Amy Rose from possession by a ghost.
- He was able to push some sense into Shadow, reminding him that what his late friend Maria wanted for him is to help and befriend humanity, in spite of his tragic past and despite the fact that Gerald Robotnik had programmed him for vengeance for Maria's death.
- He contributed well to saving the universe from the Metarex and would not rest until he knows that the safety of the galaxy is assured.
- He had done a few questionable acts such as shutting off the Project Homebound before Sonic could head home, after all his friends and enemies have gone due to the Time Suspension Phenomenon taking place where their worlds come together, and their timelines get canceled out. While this was very questionable, this was done because he was afraid of things going back to the way they were before Sonic and company arrived, not because he wanted their worlds to merge. He did come to accept the terms that Sonic had to leave to save their timelines from permanently freezing, while his parents resolve to spend more time with him.
- As of the third season, he has subverted this corrupting quality of unhealthy attachments
