Legendary Prince

Prince Chrom is one of the main protagonists of Nintendo's Fire Emblem franchise.

He is a major character of the Archanea timeline, being the main protagonist of the 2012 tactical video game Fire Emblem Awakening. He later returns as a supporting character in the 2023 video game Fire Emblem: Engage.

He is the direct descendant of the First Exalt, the distant descendant of the Hero King Marth, the prince of the Halidom of Ylisse, brother of Exalt Emmeryn and Princess Lissa, and the eventual father of Princess Lucina. He is also the leader of the Shepherds, a milita group that serves as the protectors of Ylisse against those who threaten their home.

He is voiced by Tomokazu Sugita in Japanese and Matthew Mercer in English.

What Makes Him Pure Good?[]

In General[]

He is a kind and noble man who treats everyone as equals, greatly believes in the strength of bonds, and is also incredibly humble towards many, preferring to be referred to by name rather than royal titles.
As leader of the Shepherds, he is responsible for protecting Ylisse and its villages from those who seek to harm his home nation.
Chrom is shown to be incredibly merciful to his enemies, and he prefers to use lethal force as a last resort. Even though he is lethal, it is obvious that he dislikes it and is only using it to defend his country.
While he was sometimes impulsive at certain times, he also shows remorse and regrets for his behavior and takes responsibility for actions that sometimes weren't even his fault. He eventually loses his impulsive behavior and is far more patient as a result.
Despite the high admirable standards in the Archanea Saga (and Fire Emblem in general), Chrom easily passes due to protecting Ylisse from powerful threats and leading the fight against Grima (who would've destroyed the entire world using Robin as his vessel), saving the world in both timelines (his timeline and the Future Past timeline).

He helped an amnesiac Robin and decided to recruit him into the Shepherds, despite having just met him. He even defended him from Frederick's protests.
He, Robin, Lissa, and Frederick help save a village from bandits.
He protected Lissa during a chaotic destruction in the forest.
He headed to Regna Ferox, the Warrior Realm of Feroxi to gain the kingdom's aid against the Plegian armies.
He served as one of the leaders during the Ylisee-Plegia War and fought against the Plegia armies.
- He saved his older sister Emmeryn from being assassinated by Validar and his group after learning from "Marth" of the attempted assassination plot.
- He tried to save Emmeryn from being executed by Gangrel.
- He defeated Gangrel, thus putting an end to the Ylisse-Plegia War and avenging the lives that were lost during the war.
  - During the battle, despite everything the Mad King has done, Chrom offered Gangrel a chance to peacefully surrender and end the war.
He led the Shepherds to battle against the Valm Empire and protect Ylisse from the nation's large-scale invasion.
- During the final battle in the Valm War, Chrom offered Emperor Walhart one last chance to surrender and end things peacefully between their nations.
Even after learning that Validar is Robin's father, he assures them that he continues to trust them, no matter what happens.
He convinced Lucina to spare Robin and give them a chance, even after learning that they may be possessed by Grima at any time.
He refuses to let Robin give their life when they discover that doing so will put an end to Grima for good.
He fought alongside the Shepherds against Grima's present and future incarnations, ultimately defeating them in the end.
- If Chrom is chosen, he delivers the decisive blow, and Grima is imprisoned for another thousand years. While Robin laments the fact that they missed a significant opportunity to rid the world of the Fell Dragon, Chrom, along with his family and friends, assures him that they made the right decision, with Chrom believing that their future descendants will be more capable of dealing with Grima as they have.
- If Robin is chosen, Chrom tries to stop them from sacrificing their lives. When Robin kills Grima and disintegrates as a result, Chrom expresses sorrow for the loss of his close companion. However, he expressed hope that Robin would return and stated that he will wait for them for as long as they can.
After defeating Grima, he would lead the reconstruction of the world. Some time later, he and Lissa would reunite with Robin, with the former welcoming back his companion.
