Have I ever told you about my son? Remarkable boy. Quite smart! He was born in a robot factory in the Solana Galaxy, but to be precise, he was 'created' much farther away. My son's name is XJ-0461, but the universe knows him as Clank!

~ Orvus about Clank
Clank is one of the titular two main protagonists (alongside Rachet) of the video game franchise Ratchet & Clank. He is the right-hand to Ratchet, whom he accompanies on his back during their heroic endeavours.
He foiled Chairman Drek's plan to destroy Ratchet's home planet after he had destroyed multiple planets to create his own, which he intended to pollute and destroy more planets after.
He stops the Protopet rampage in the Bogon Galaxy, as well Captain Qwark's plan to frame him, Ratchet and Angela Cross for it.
He stops Dr.Nefarious from using the Biobliterator to turn every organic creature in the Solana Galaxy into a robot.
He defeats Otto Destruct and his army of clone Ratchets, preventing him from harvesting the intelligence of the geniuses in the Solana Galaxy for himself.
He banishes Emperor Tachyon and the cragmites to another dimension, putting an end to his tyranny in the Polaris Galaxy.
He prevents Dr. Nefarious from taking control of the Great Clock and using it for his own selfish ways.
He helps Ratchet to defeat Alister Azimuth, and praises the latter for his bravery when he realizes the error of his ways and subsequently sacrifices his life.
He works with Qwark and Nefarious to defeat the Loki Master. He even reasons with Nefarious and tries to convince him to turn to the good side.
He worked with Neftin Prog on defeating the Nethers and bringing his sister, Vendra, back.
He defeated Emperor Nefarious by summoning the kraken from a rift that Ratchet opens using the Dimensionator.
On His Own Accord:[]
Though designed to be a soldier for Chairman Drek, he shows himself to have a strong moral center and decides to oppose his plans.
He stuck around Ratchet during his selfish and anti-heroic phase, and eventually guided him to come around and become a mighty hero himself.
He attempted to reason with Chairman Drek over the loss of his planet before his revelation.
When offered to join Dr. Nefarious in his schemes, he refuses.
He redeems Qwark by letting him know that the Solona Galaxy needs him and that this is an opportunity to redeem himself and become a true hero, which later convinces Qwark to aid them in defeating Nefarious.
He provides logistical support to Ratchet during their imprisonment at DreadZone and works with Al to reprogram a shuttle that would lead him to a containment unit where he would be able to free other prisoners within.
He refuses to leave the battledome without Ratchet as the latter fights Gleeman Vox. When Vox is defeated, he extracts Ratchet, and removes his deadlock collar before it detonates.
He convinces Ratchet to rescue Talwyn Apogee from Zordoom Prison, after learning she is in trouble from the Zoni, who Ratchet initially dismissed as "imaginary friends."
He warns Ratchet the potential risks of using the Dimensionator before it ends up in the hands of Emperor Tachyon who would use it to bring back the cragmites. This lesson would make Ratchet wise enough to listen to Clank when it came to the risks of misusing the Great Clock.
He comforts Ratchet by assuring him that he has filled his purpose of serving the lombaxes, after hearing unnerving remarks from Tachyon.
When Ratchet is killed by Alister Azimuth, he acts quickly to reach the Orvus Chamber and reverse time backwards to ensure he would be able to save Ratchet.
As he is about to accept his role as the successor to Orvus, he changes his mind at the last second and chooses to stick with Ratchet to help him find the lombaxes.
He repairs the Dimensionator to give to Ratchet as a gift to pursue the Lombax dimension.
He fixes multiple rift anomalies caused by Dr. Nefarious's misuse of the Dimensionator.
He helps Rivet to overcome her fear of robots and amend her partnership with Kit.
