Cole is one of the main protagonists of the Ninjago franchise. He is the Black Ninja and Master of Earth who was one of five chosen warriors to protect the Green Ninja.
He was voiced by the late Kirby Morrow from the Pilot Episodes to Season 14: Seabound and is currently voiced by Andrew Francis as of Season 15: Crystalized.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- Although he had multiple jerkish and arrogant moments in the past, he has subverted all of these qualities and become much more mature in the present, additionally showing remorse for his jerkish moments such as calling Zane a freak, fighting with Jay frequently, and constantly mocking Kai.
- He follows a code of honor stemmed from his mother of protecting the weak.
- He along with the other Ninja always fight many villains that threaten Ninjago or the 16 realms, always trying to stop them such as: The Serpentine, The Overlord, Anacondrai Cultists, Ghost Warriors, Sons of Garmadon, and many others.
- He cares about those closest to him.
- He loves his mother as her death deeply affected him even in present to the point of distancing himself from his dad because he believed that he did not care about her death and tries to protect the people around him out of fear to not lose them, like with his mother. Additionally, he cried that he did not want to lose her.
- He also loves his dad. While he lied to him that he was attending a dancing school in order to impress him this was out of insecurity out of fear to not dissapoint him. After his father sees that Cole is a hero he apologizes to Cole for his stern behaviour and became closer. Cole is protective of him such as when he used his true potential to prevent him from being crushed, and goes out of his way to spend time together with him
- He does care for the other Ninja and Master Wu as he is a good friend towards them, comforting them when it is needed and always tries to protect them.
- He is especially a good friend towards Jay, despite having opposite personalities and clashing more often than not they stick together and manage to stay friends despite everything. They also spend a lot of time together.
Pilot[]
- He piloted the boat that let the Ninja retrieve the Shurikens of Ice.
- He slowed down the Skull Truck, allowing the other Ninja to board on.
- Alongside the other Ninja, he used a combo move known as The Tornado of Creation to defeat all of the Skullkin and retrieve the Golden Weapons, also thwarting Garmadon’s invasion.
Rise of the Snakes[]
- He quickly freed the Dragons when the Monastery had burned down.
- Upon awakening his full potential, he saved his father and the other Ninja’s life from falling debris.
- He broke down the door and stopped a dangerous fight between Kai and Garmadon.
Legacy of the Green Ninja[]
- He got a job as a security officer at the bank to help the Ninja afford an apartment, stopping at least a few petty bank robbers.
- With the other ninja, he helped fight off the Destiny's Bounty Pirates, even directly defeating No-Eyed Pete.
- With the other Ninja, he defeated their evil clones that terrorized Darkley's Boarding School for Bad Boys.
- With the other ninja, he competes in the Ninjaball Run and helps win a large sum of money to save Dareth’s dojo.
- With the other Ninja, he has stopped the Grundle revived by Garmadon which terrorized innocents.
- He helps in Lloyd’s green ninja training.
- When travelling back in time, he (along with the other Ninja) uses his Scythe of Quakes to launch Garmadon’s Mega Weapon into space so he can never use its deadly powers again.
- He helps distract the Giant Stone warrior so the other Ninja can trap it.
- He blinds a corrupted Nya, helping him and the other Ninja have a chance to escape.
- Along with the other Ninja, he aided Lloyd up the tower that would let him defeat the Overlord and save all of Ninjago.
Rebooted[]
- Along with the other Ninja, he helps stop The Overlord and his new uprising multiple times such as by stealing the Tech Blades or entering the Digiverse.
- In a canon tie-in comic, him and Zane rescue various workers from slavery. His heroism also inspired a girl named Seliel to become a hero.
- He saved Jay when they traveled in space from getting lost.
Tournament of Elements[]
- While working as a lumberjack, he saved several workers lives from an avalanche of logs.
- Along with the other Ninja, he decides to head to the Tournament of Elements to rescue Zane.
- He gives up his freedom in the Tournament of Elements to let Jay continue, voluntarily letting himself be imprisoned so Jay can win and apologizing for ruining things with his best friend.
- He informs Zane that he will break him out of prison, then later breaks him out, and leads the way out as they got chased by Clouse’s Anacondrai Serpent.
- Along with Zane, he built up a plan to help all of Chen’s prisoners escape from the slave factory, and succeded in doing so.
- He rescues Nya and Garmadon from being eaten alive by the giant snake.
- He helps fight off multiple of Chen’s henchmen.
- He uses his Elemental Earth Dragon and helps other elemental masters participate in Chen’s war that endangers all of Ninjago.
- He breaks the walls of Kryptarium Prison which allows Pythor to escape to stop the Anachondrai War. Saving Pythor would help stop the war that endangers Ninjago.
- He stops one of Master Chen’s delivery trucks.
Possesion[]
- While in Sensei Yang’s haunted Dojo, he gives up his own mortality and voluntarily stays in the house to retrieve the scroll of Airjitzu that would be pivotal in stopping Morro’s omnicide. By doing this Cole, knowingly gave up his humanity and became a ghost to help his team.
- While climbing a giant mountain, he saved the other Ninjas lives from falling by creating a giant snow platform to catch them.
- Despite his fears of not knowing how to use his powers, he helped his team fly up to the Cloud Kingdom which would allow them to get the Sword they need to save the multiverse.
- When the Ninja were all tricked by Fenwick and locked and the room with a man-eating Nimbus, he used his Ghost powers to escape and rescue the Ninja from being eaten.
- While raiding the First Spinjitzu Master’s tomb, he is the first to take a leap of faith and jump down a hole, leading to the other Ninja’s following him and saving their lives, allowing them to progress further.
- Despite water being deadly to him, he jumped in to save Lloyd.
- He sacrificed his Ghost cycle in an attempt to stop the Preeminent.
- He tried to save Kai from falling down although due to being a ghost he failed to do so.
Skybound[]
- He used his ghost powers to try to rescue Zane from being tortured by The Mechanic.
- He helped the other Ninja escape Kryptarium Prison so they could stop Nadakhan.
- Along with Nya and Lloyd he disguised himself as one of the Sky Pirates, and managed to almost save Jay from being imprisoned, but Nadakhan found them and imprisoned them except Nya.
- He also apologized to Jay for being rude towards him stating that he should have been a better friend.
- He used up his last wish to create a cutlass to cut a cloud in order to help Jay and Nya escape from Nadakhan, undergoing a painful imprisonment in the process.
Day of the Departed[]
- He tried to convine Yang's students that they are his prisoners in order to free them.
- He fought Sensei Yang trying to stop him from escaping through the portal.
- He rescues Sensei Yang’s ghostly students from fates worse than death by destroying the Yin Blade freeing them from Yang's curse.
- He helps redeem Sensei Yang and to find his happiness.
The Hands of Time[]
- He helps the other Ninja clean up the museum after their mess after the Day of the Departed.
- He saved Master Wu from falling to his death, after his fight with Acronix.
- He fought the Vermillion alongside the other Ninja, even defeating some of them.
- He uses his Earth Fist to help the Ninja find a sewer system which allowed them to find the Vermillion Headquarters.
- He along with Jay saved the kidnapped civillians by the Vermillion in order to build metal for their plans.
Sons of Garmadon[]
- He along with Zane disguised themselves as the Sons of Garmadon in order to stop their plans and went on with Zane's plan even if it resulted in being captured himself.
- He rescued a baby Wu from imprisonment at the Sons of Garmadon base, then would later nurture the boy into going back to his old self. He continues to protect his life from the Sons of Garmadon multiple times.
Hunted[]
- He along with Wu searched for food in the Realm of Oni and Dragons, after being teleported there.
- He rescues Wu from a dragon.
- Him and Wu sneak into the Iron Baron’s gladiator ring and rescue Kai, Zane and Jay from a gladiator death battle, by throwing a Vengestone chain.
- He builds a wooden dragon that lets Wu rescue the ninja from imprisonment again and also save all of the baby dragons from imprisonment.
- With the other Ninja, he saves Ninjago city from the Colossus and Garmadon.
March of the Oni[]
- Although he fell down in the Oni's darkness he manages to survive and succesfully escape alive, arriving in the battle and saving the Ninja from some Oni.
- Along with the other Ninja and Garmadon, he does a tornado of creation to stop the Omega’s omnicide.
Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu[]
- Cole uses his strength to lift a column, in the pyramind in order to help his friends explore the pyramid
- He helps fight off multiple of Aspheera’s minions.
- He helps fight off the Blizzard Samurai who was threatening the Ice Village.
- He goes to look for the Traveler's tree to help the Ninja to get back home after they manage to find Zane.
- Cole saves Boma and Uthaug from falling to their deaths.
- He befriends a Yeti beast named Krag, becoming his first ever friend after his kind was killed by Vex.
Prime Empire[]
- He finished the Prime Empire game in time, which opened the portal to the game in order to go to find Jay.
- He along with Kai sacrificed themselves for the other Ninja to win the race losing his life in the game in the proccess.
Master of the Mountain[]
- He befriends Vania and later on The Upply becoming good friends to the point where they helped him stop the Skull Sorcerer (Vangelis).
- Upon seeing a purple creature, he tracks it down with Vania and fights the Skull Sorcerer, defeating many of it's skeletons while informing Vania to warn Vangelis of the Skull Sorcerer's misdeeds.
- He along with Wu, Vania and the Upply managed to escape from the bottom of the Mountain, using the stone mech in order to do so, playing a major role and he also discovered that his powers are amplified due to being connected to the Earth element.
- He defeated the Lava Monster.
- He stops the Skull Sorcerer by unlocking the Spinjitzu Burst, saving the Geckles and Munce from his slavery and potential genocide.
Seabound[]
- He tried to guess the riddle for the Club Explorer's membership although he failed.
- He fought the Murray guards alongside Kai, Wu, Ray and Misako in order to stop Kalmaar from getting the amulet.
- He comforted Jay over the loss of Nya because of her sacrifice to stop Kalmaar.
Ninjago: Dragons Rising[]
- He protected the Finders in the Land of Lost Things.
- He protected Bonzle from Lord Ras and tried to prevent her from being captured.
- He, along with Zane, prevented the Cloud Kingdom from crashing.
