Courage is the titular main protagonist of the Courage the Cowardly Dog. He is the pet dog to Muriel Bagge and Eustace Bagge. He is shown to always to go out of his way to save Muriel when she is in danger.
He was voiced by Marty Grabstein.

Personality
Courage is shown to deeply care about Muriel and is willing to keep her safe from any villain. He is shown to risk his life to rescue and save Muriel and Eustace. Despite Eustace's dislike and hatred for Courage, the latter is still willing to save him. Courage is also shown to defend others who are being picked on like the Hunchback from the episode "The Hunchback from Nowhere"; the latter being made fun of and called ugly by Eustace. Courage is also willing to save others from danger as seen in "Katz Under the Sea" where he saved multiple people from Katz's bombing of the submarine.
What Makes him Pure Good?
- He is shown to protect Muriel multiple times.
- He is willing to go out of his way to protect Eustace, despite the latter’s hatred of Courage.
- He saved multiple people in the town of Nowhere multiple times like saving multiple people from a bombing of a submarine in "Katz Under the Sea".
- Courage has not displayed any corrupting qualities like wrath or envy.
- He is shown to stick up for others who gets bullied. The most known example was in the episode "The Hunchback of Nowhere", where he supported the Hunchback who was getting bullied by Eustace.
- Compared to his many fears and anxiety, Courage is the bravest character in the series, as he have to get over his fears to the biggest extent.
- With the exception of Katz, Courage is always willing to forgive his enemies as soon as he doesn't deem them as threatening anymore. The most known example was in the episode "The Mask", where he held no grudge for Kitty's physical violence toward him, as he realized what her friend had been through. Even in the brief moment where he did judge her harshly, he was more afraid for Muriel's well-being than for his own.
