Crysta is the main protagonist of the animated movie, Ferngully: The Last Rainforest, and a major supporting character in its sequel, Ferngully 2: The Magical Rescue.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- She frequently shows to care for the rainforest and those that live within it.
Ferngully: The Last Rainforest[]
- When she sees smoke coming from Mount Warning, she shows concern on the possibility of Hexxus coming back and alerts Magi, prompting her mentor to investigate herself.
- When she first meets Batty who is shown to have gone blind from the experiments he endured, she blesses him with fairy sight.
- She attempts to give fairy sight to Zak in order to save him from getting crushed by a falling tree, only shrinking him to the size of a fairy by accident.
- After shrinking Zak, Crysta takes responsibility for the mistake and promises to take Zak to Magi so she could fix him when she is unable to.
- She saves Zak from getting eaten by Lou.
- While she does get angry at Zak, this anger is justified as she found out Zak had lied to her about the marks he was spraying which caused her not to act on an impending threat until it was almost too late.
- She performs a sacrifice by taking a seed and flying into Hexxus's mouth in order to make a tree grow from within him, imprisoning him once more.
Ferngully 2: The Magical Rescue[]
- She teaches Bark how to grow a seed which proves important as the lesson allows Bark to save the day.
- After a group of poachers cause a forest fire after kidnapping some baby animals, Crysta allows Pips, Batty, and the Beetle Boys to set out on a rescue mission to save them due to her being unable to leave until she can ensure Ferngully will recover.
- When she finds Boof, one of the poachers' dogs, stuck in a bear trap, she frees him and offers to help Boof reunite with his partner. In doing so, she redeems both dogs.
