Dora Márquez is the titular main protagonist of the Nickelodeon's Dora the Explorer franchise.
She is a young girl who often goes on adventures with her best friend Boots, helping people with their problems and protecting fantasy kingdoms from threats.
She is voiced by Kathleen Herles in the first four seasons, Caitlin Sanchez in Seasons 5 and 6, and Fátima Ptacek in Seasons 6-8 and Dora and Friends. In Dora and the Lost City of Gold, she was portrayed by Isabela Moner.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
- While the series is very light-hearted being meant for young audiences, Dora the Explorer does have a challenging standard for Dora to face, and a minor heinous standard for her to oppose as well, meaning she meets the Pure Good criteria correctly by it not being all in her favor.
- She's a friendly and compassionate girl who cares about helping others and giving back to her community.
- She loves Boots and sees him as her best friend, and will do anything to protect him on their adventures.
- She loves animals and will save them when they're in danger.
- She's foiled Swiper the Fox from stealing from people and causing mischief in general.
- She loves going on adventures to help her friends, never giving up and treating any challenge with a positive attitude.
- She's willing to ask for help from her friends or even the audience when she doesn't know the answer to a problem.
- She treats the audience as her friend, encouraging them to learn with her and help her in her adventures, and thanks them for their help, saying she couldn't have done it without them.
- She often saves her friends' lives when they're in danger, such as saving Boots from a dangerous waterfall, or saving a group of stars from being sucked into a black hole.
- She treats Swiper with kindness despite them being enemies, and tries to see the good in him, even saving him when he's in danger.
- She saved several fantasy worlds that were threatened by more serious villains, showing considerable bravery and determination in stopping the villains.
- She's pacifistic and tries to reason with villains and get them to change their ways. She only fights villains who reject redemption.
- She defeated Alejandro Gutierrez and saved her friends.
