Dylan Octarine is a major supporting character in the Inkopolis Chaos trilogy. He serves as a minor character in Inkopolis Chaos, a supporting character in Inkopolis Chaos 2 and a major character in Inkopolis Chaos 3. He was a reluctant soldier in the Octarian Army, but he deserted recently, and moved into an apartment in Inkopolis. He is Natalie’s older brother.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- When Natalie was homeless, he helped her out, by sending her food, recourses and letting her stay at his place sometimes if she stayed low-key. He always made sure she was surviving well on the surface while she was in such tough times.
- He was understanding of Natalies situation and frustration in the first story.
- When Obsidian ordered him to hunt and kill his own sister, he deserted the Octarian army, not wanting to do any more deeds for the octarians.
- He provided hacking assistance whenever needed, and his hacking skills proved to be extremely useful.
- He uploaded the octobusters database online, exposing them all as the racist criminals that they were. He also exposed Magentark Clover’s act of framing Natalie.
- He helped make agent suits for Samuel, Natalie, Luke, Sylvia, Melody and Melissa.
- He, Katelin, Melody and Sylvia helped liberate Lt. Obsidians concentration camps.
- When Sylvia was just tortured by Blakeson, he was desperate to rescue her, and when he found her traumatised, he carried her away to safety, ensuring that she was going to be ok.
- He called out Lieutenant Obsidian for lying about parts of her past.
- He helped out in the final battle, especially with hacking, and also kept updating everyone as much as he could.
- After Ruby’s sacrifice, he made a cover story about her giving her life for an inkling, to make sure she was remembered as a hero, and not as the menace the octobusters portrayed her as.
- While he didn’t trust Samuel at first, his respect for him grew clearer, and got stronger. In the end, he respected and trusted him fully.
- As reclusive as he is, he clearly cares about others, and doesn’t act like a jerk at all. In fact, he lacks any corrupting qualities, as the only potential one he had was subverted.
- At the end of the story, he gets into a relationship with Melissa, and while we don’t see them interact much as a couple, in the oneshot “A Burden To Bear”, he is shown to be loving and caring towards her, and the two clearly do love each over as shown by Melissa kissing him at the end.
- While he’s isn’t admirable as some other heroes in the story, Dylan still stands out with his lesser resources and abilities, as he does what he can with what he has.
Trivia[]
- He, Samuel Turfblu and Katelin are the only Inkopolis Chaos heroes to be Pure Good.
