E.T. is the titular character and deuteragonist of the film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. He is an alien who is stranded on Earth when his ship leaves him behind, and befriends a boy named Elliott, who tries to help him return home.
He was voiced by the late Pat Welsh.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- He is a purely innocent being who is curious about Earth and becomes very close to Elliott and his siblings.
- He heals Elliott when he cuts his finger.
- He saves Elliott's life by making his bike fly when he goes off a cliff.
- He sacrifices himself by severing his psychic link with Elliott, saving Elliott from dying along with him.
- He saves Elliott and his friends by lifting all their bikes into the air when they're cornered by government agents.
- He has an emotional goodbye with Elliott at the end, offering to take Elliott with him, and when Elliott declines, E.T. hugs him goodbye and tells him they'll always be together in their hearts.
