Eggs Trubshaw is the main protagonist of the 2014 film The Boxtrolls.
He was voiced by Isaac Hempstead Wright.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- He has a caring and compassionate nature towards others, which is one of the reasons why he was able to become close friends with Winnie.
- After his adoptive family, the boxtrolls, were captured, he went out of his way to go and rescue them from Archibald Snatcher.
- Despite his failure to blend in with the other humans at first and Lord Portley-Rind leading him to temporarily distrust humans, he later realized that not all humans where bad people, particularly when he befriends Winnie. Before returning to his sewer, he made sure to still shake hands with her and tell her he really meant to say that it was nice to meet her.
- He rescued Fish from Snatcher's headquarters after getting directions to the place by Winnie.
- He tried to persuade the remaining captured Boxtrolls to flee for their own safety after accidently knocking a cheese wheel into the river and announcing himself as "Trubshaw Baby" at the ball, in spite of him unknowingly and accidently demoralizing them instead.
- Even if Archibald Snatcher tried to kill him, kidnapped his father and tried to exterminate the Boxtrolls, he still tried to dissuade him from eating a last piece of cheese that would kill him and tried to push him not to be defined by his past.
- He was a major reason why the boxtrolls and the townspeople were finally able to make peace with one another.
