~ Eijiro's inner monologue during his battle with Kendo Rappa. |
Eijiro Kirishima, also known as the Sturdy Hero: Red Riot, is a major character of the My Hero Academia franchise. He is one of the students in U.A High and he is studying in Class 1-A at the Hero Studies course, to become a Pro Hero. Eijiro's quirk, Hardening, allows him to harden and/or sharpen any part of his body at will.
He has an outgoing, friendly and determined attitude, ready to take on any challenge that comes his way, and shows a high respect towards honest, tough and righteous figures, deeming such actions as "manly". At the same time, he dislikes opposite attitudes such as cowardice or cheating. He has a very noble and willing personality, as well as being kind-hearted and friendly towards his fellow classmates.
He is voiced by Toshiki Masuda in Japanese and Justin Cook in English.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- Like the rest of his friends, he is strongly loyal to U.A, his class, and his teammates.
- He is shown to be incredibly supportive and humble towards others, always praising them for their strength and skills.
- He always stood up for the underclassmen who were being bullied.
- While the admirable standards are quite high, Kirishima stands out due to possessing lower resources than Izuku, Bakugo, and even Shoto.
- While he did have moments of having a bit of arrogance, he quickly subverts this quality and isn't ashamed to admit his flaws, showing how humble he truly is on the inside.
- On top of that, one of his earlier flaws in the beginning was his lack of tactical thinking and impulsive tendencies on the battlefield, he also improves from this stage by becoming somewhat smarter and wiser over time, and becoming more informed compared to when he used to be "book-dumb".
- While he tends to be mischievous with Bakugo most of the time (ex. him and Sero making fun of Bakugo's new haircut in the Vs. Hero Killer Arc), these acts are merely played for laughs as Kirishima was only teasing him out of harmless fun and doesn't do anything significantly harmful towards Bakugo even when the latter is being a hothead over a little joke that made Bakugo get butthurt and nothing else beyond that.
Background[]

With this, he committed himself to training himself and studying hard in order to pass the U.A entrance Exam and he succeeded.
- After being unable to act against Gigantomachia, he apologizes to the two female classmates for not being able to help them.
