Elaine is a supporting protagonist of The Seven Deadly Sins fantasy anime/manga series. She is a Fairy who is the brother of Harlequinn, the third Fairy King, who after her brother's departure, became the holy maiden of the Fountain of Youth, remaining there until she fell in love with the human Ban, sacrificing her life to give him immortality. She is later resurrected by Melascula before dying once again during a battle against the Demon Clan, this time being resurrected by Ban himself through the process of him giving up his immortality.
She is voiced by Kotori Koiwai in Japanese and Brianna Knickerbocker in English.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
- She protected the Fountain of Youth for hundreds of years, preventing it from getting into the wrong hands and protecting the Fairy Forest from being destroyed, despite the misery it bought her.
- When a Red Demon came to burn down the Fairy Forest, she tried to warn Ban that it he needed to destroy its multiple hearts. When this failed and ban was nearly killed, Elaine swallowed the Water and spit into Ban's mouth to give him immortality.
- She convinced King to forgive Ban, ending their rivalry and stopping him from freezing Ban as a statue.
- Although she did become enraged and attack her fellow fairies, then Jericho out of jealousy for spending time with Ban, this was only under the influence of Melascula's dark magic amplifying her most negative qualities. She was immensely remorseful when she broke out of the spell, needless to say.
- She saved Ban from a giant snake Melascula, who planned to keep him suffocating in her poison for all of eternity.
- She has a son with Ban who she greatly cares for and loves.
- Although she did initially have a misanthropic view on humans, not only was this common for her race but she later subverts it after befriending Ban.
