Sergeant Elijah Brodski is a major protagonist in the 2001 sci-fi slasher film Jason X. He is the leader of a group of space marines onboard a starship called the Grendel.

He is portrayed by Peter Mensah.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Pure Good[]

  • Helped nurse Rowan back to health using the nanomites.
  • Upon learning that Jason had woken up, he put the Gandel on lockdown and alerted everyone on board of it. Upon learning that one of the students’s boyfriend had been killed by Jason, he had Professor hide along with his students until Jason was defeated for good.
  • Called out the professor for temporarily leaving his students when he tried bragging him with a lot of money to keep Jason alive.
  • Reassured his crew that he wasn’t going to go through with Professor Lowe’s plan to keep Jason alive for profit, with him advising them to put one bullet in his leg and say "We tried."
  • Saved one of the egineers from getting killed by Jason and him get to safety while they went looking for the latter.
  • Helped Rowan, Tsunaron, and KM reach the Tiamat as the Gendel was exploding.
  • Tackled Jason as he was trying to grab onto the Tiamat, causing the two of them to fall to Earth and incinerate and destroy the latter, finally ending his reign of terror for good.
  • Since Jason X is canonically the final film in the original films (with it taking place in the future) and since nothing indicates he survived, It can safely be assumed that Jason was defeated permanently, something no other protagonist managed to do.
    • Additionally, at this point, Jason was at his most dangerous due to the nanomites turning him into Uber Jason (making him impenetrable against anything thrown at him such as guns and even more stronger than he already was) . Furthermore, even before becoming Uber Jason, he had already caused the ship to crash into a space station, killing thousands in the process). This helps him be able to stand out compared to Tommy Jarvis and Creighton Duke, (the former of who previously defeated Jason twice as well as Roy Burns and the latter who helped give Steven Freeman and Jessica Kimble the info they needed to defeat Jason and temporarily send Jason to hell and had captured six serial killers).
  • He is easily the most selfless character in the film as shown by him repeatedly showing concern for the well being of the people aboard the Grendel including his men and being the most determined to stop Jason at all cost.
  • While it initially seemed like he was going to accept Professor Lowe’s offer to keep Jason alive when he started bragging him a lot of money, he was actually lying as he only did it so that he would get off his back and go back to his students. In truth, he had no intention of doing this since he knew how dangerous Jason actually was.
  • While he did try to kill/destroy Jason and use lethal force on him, it was completely justified as Jason was an unstoppable monster who had already slaughtered hundreds of people and couldn’t be reason with.

Trivia[]

  • He is the only Friday the 13th hero to be Pure Good, since all the other characters in the series went through several wrathful and violent moments.
