“ | Look around. We’re one and the same. Same heart, same blood. Your training is in your blood. And my blood is boiling for a fight! | „ |

“ | I'm NOT just another number! NONE of us are! | „ |

“ | Rex, this...it's...bigger than any of us...than anything...I could've imagined....I never meant to...I only wanted to do my duty. The mission...the nightmares...they're...finally...over.... | „ |
~ Fives’ last words to Rex, shortly before his death. |
CT-5555, short for CT-27-5555 (nicknamed "Fives"), is a major character in the 2008-2020 animated series Star Wars The Clone Wars.
He is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who also voiced all the clone troopers including Captain Rex and Echo in the same series.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- From the start, Fives demonstrated a strong ability to empathize and care for his fellow clones. He also developed a particularly close bond with Echo.
- He is utterly devoted to his brothers and will go against anyone, even a former Jedi, to protect them. He is also a fierce advocate for the clones' rights, saying that they should be thought of as people rather than numbers.
- When he and his squad are stationed at the Rishi outpost, which is attacked by the Separatists, Fives helps to hold off the attack despite being injured.
- During the second battle of Kamino, Fives inspires the young clones to take a stand and defend their home, and brings down many droid attackers along with Echo.
- In the Umbara arc, Fives stands up to Krell's orders, questioning all of Krell's reckless orders that cost many clones their lives.
- When the other clones are pinned down, Fives, along with Hardcase, hijacks a pair of Umbaran fighters and destroys the enemy forces, saving the day and winning the battle.
- He saved many clones along with Hardcase and Jesse by destroying the Separatist supply ship when Krell was just going to send the clones on another suicide mission.
- When Krell ordered his execution, Fives gave a speech to the firing squad that they are not droids, but men, and should be trusted to make the right decisions and know when their orders are wrong, which convinced the clones not to go through with it.
- He helped bring down Krell when his corruption was exposed.
- He finally passed the Goodness Zone when he tries his best to expose Palpatine and stop the destruction of the Jedi, only to be killed at the last minute. If he haven't gotten killed, Fives could have saved all the Jedi and prevented Order 66.
- Even after his death, he saved many clones from the inhibitor chips. This included Captain Rex, making Fives indirectly responsible for saving both Ahsoka and Rex in the long run.
- Furthermore, after the Clone Wars and the formation of the Galactic Empire, Fives' action motivated Rex to help the fugitive Clone Force 99 remove their chips and lead an underground resistance movement against the Empire by rescuing other clones.
- To drive the point home, this makes Fives indirectly responsible for Clone Force 99 successfully rescuing the clone commando Gregor from an Imperial base on Daro per Rex's request, who would later join Rex and Echo in the clone resistance network to free Captain Howzer and two of his men from the Imperial Science Division's custody, with Echo soon discovering that Crosshair, his former teammate from Clone Force 99, was also among the captive clones, prompting Echo to return to his squad with the intel in an effort to rescue Crosshair.
- Furthermore, after the Clone Wars and the formation of the Galactic Empire, Fives' action motivated Rex to help the fugitive Clone Force 99 remove their chips and lead an underground resistance movement against the Empire by rescuing other clones.
- Even after his death, he saved many clones from the inhibitor chips. This included Captain Rex, making Fives indirectly responsible for saving both Ahsoka and Rex in the long run.
- While he did display impulse behavior when Palpatine told him of his plan, this was mostly due to the drug Nala Se had injected in him that made him more agitated, and upon meeting Chancellor Palpatine and learning from him the full truth about Order 66, Fives snapped and attacked him. He also tried to explain this to Anakin and Rex, but the drug made it impossible for them to understand him.
- Despite the series' high admirable standards, Fives still stands out for his actions for having much fewer resources than most Star Wars heroes.
- Despite having very serious moments, he doesn't darken the story or the mood.
Trivia[]
- He is one of three clone troopers in Star Wars to be Pure Good, alongside Captain Rex and Echo. Interestingly enough, all of them are from the same unit, the 501st Legion.
- Fives was initially not Pure Good in Season 1 and 3, due to having the same admirable deeds as Captain Rex, as well as not getting along too well with his fellow squad members in the pilot episode of Season 3. It wasn't until Season 4 and 6 where he shows how egalitarian he really is, standing up to Krell due to his hatred for clones and attempting to save all of his brothers and the Jedi from Order 66, allowing him to qualify as Pure Good.
