You go to hell!
~ Gillian's last words before killing Childress.

Gillian Bellaver is the deuteragonist in the 1978 horror movie The Fury. She is a 17 year old girl who has very powerful psychic powers.

She was portrayed by Amy Irving.

What Makes Her Pure Good?[]

  • She is incredibly remorseful for her powers harming other people and tried to keep herself from touching other people, even her mother.
  • Although she teased Cheryl for being pregnant (although she wasn't), it was only to get back at her for bullying her mercilessly and told her to let go of her until she accidentally caused her to bleed, which she felt immediate remorse for.
  • She goes to the Paragon Institution to seek help about her psychic powers.
  • She tries to find help from the authorities about her powers and about a boy named Robin Sandza and realizes he is the son of Peter Sandza.
  • She tries to find and save Robin after seeing visions of him and escapes from the Paragon Institute.
  • She was incredibly shocked and horrified after witnessing the death of Hester when she got hit by a car and crashed into a windshield of another car.
  • She helps Peter Sandza find Robin by leading to his whereabouts due to being linked to him and convinced to let her go with him to find him since she is a psychic too and leads him to Ben Childress' house.
  • In the end of the film, when Robin transfers his powers to Gillian before dying, she kills Childress who kidnapped psychic children and turned them into weapons and tried to do the same to her, ending his plans and avenging the deaths of Peter and Robin.
    • While her telling Childress to "go to hell" sounded threatening, it was justified since she found out he killed many of the psychic children's families and used the children as his tools for the government and he had no remorse for it and he even tried to do the same to her as well and she had to kill him to stop him for good, making her a righteous killer instead of lethal and making her anger more of a heating-up moment.

Trivia[]

  • She was originally approved Near Pure Good because of her threatening line of "you go to hell", but it was later shown that it was completely justified since Ben Childress is a murderous psychopath and later got approved Pure Good.
