What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- Despite possessing god-like power, he never gave in to the temptation of these powers, remaining humble and scarcely using them for fighting.
- When he discovered that his mother had been sacrificing villagers to the God Tree, and one of the victims was a girl he loved, Haori, he did not succumb to rage or vengeance against his mother, even after her death awakened his Sharingan.
- When confronting his mother, he attempted to resolve the conflict through diplomacy instead of fighting even knowing all the people she'd killed.
- He defeated his mother alongside his brother Hamura, sealing her away and defeating the Ten-Tails as well, thereby saving the planet and saving everyone else who was trapped in the Divine Tree.
- After their battle, he felt great remorse over the destruction caused and atoned by traveling the world and repairing all the damage done.
- During his travels, he came across a broken bridge and encountered a common thief named Futami, who took advantage of the broken bridge to steal and scam people. He manually reconstructed the bridge, with Futami agreeing to help only so he could destroy it once it was finished and so he could leave. Eventually, others decided to help, and when the bridge is finished, Futami refuses to destroy something they worked so hard on. Futami is then completely redeemed and decides to join Hagoromo on his quest.
- He traveled the world, continuing to amass followers while rebuilding the landscape, as well as spreading the concept of ninshū and chakra to people across the planet to interconnect people and deepen the bonds with one another, developing the very shinobi world itself.
- He loved both of his sons dearly and did his best to raise them. While he did choose Ashura as his successor instead of Indra after giving both of them a test, he explained to Indra why his method failed and the emphasis he placed on power. Even then, he hoped that Indra would come to support Ashura and the two could work together.
- When Indra arrived to fight Ashura, he attempted to reason with him and explain that power wasn't the only way to rule and to remember not to forget his humanity.
- While his decision to choose Ashura as a successor led to Indra betraying the family, this was not his fault, as Indra had been manipulated by Black Zetsu during his childhood into becoming a cold and ruthless dictator. What's more, he would feel incredible guilt over having failed to mend the bond between his two sons.
- He separated the Ten-Tails into nine separate tailed beasts, creating temples for them so that they'd be protected. He did this with the intention of preventing the resurrection of the Ten-Tails and to maintain balance and peace.
- He left behind a stone tablet detailing his history and to convince the reincarnations of Indra not to take Ashura's power for themselves.
- When the Ten-Tails was reawakened and Madara became its jinchuriki, he appeared before Naruto and Sasuke and gave them both half his chakra, allowing them to fight evenly with Madara. This power would be vital in stopping Kaguya and resealing her after she was resurrected by Black Zetsu.
- He gave Sasuke half his power to help defeat his mother, despite Sasuke detailing what he intended to do with it, fully trusting Sasuke to come to his senses with the help of Naruto and to eventually use his powers for good.
- Despite everything she did, he continued to love Kaguya and still called her mother, actually defending her when Naruto noted how she lacked a heart and explaining that she was once kind and caring, but the Chakra fruit she ate likely warped her mind.
