Research laboratories unconnected to the government, unconnected to any business interests or any of that kind of stuff. And then we build right downtown in the heart of the city, in the epicenter, and we become the heart of the city. We become the heart of the nation. We change the way you think about the sciences

I'm the original.
~ Harrison revealing which Wells he is.

Harrison Wells, later known as Timeless Wells, is a supporting protagonist in the Arrowverse, serving as one of the two overarching protagonists (alongside the Speed Force) of The Flash.

He’s an idealistic scientist that founded S.T.A.R Labs and launched the Particle Accelerator that turned Barry Allen into the Flash in the year 2020. Unfortunately, his plans were infamously hijacked by a time-traveling Eobard Thawne, who brutally killed both Harrison and his wife and stole the former's identity over a decade before the start of the series. However, following Crisis on Infinite Earths and every other Wells sacrificing themselves, the original Harrison Wells would be revived with all their memories and time-travelling powers, assisting Team Flash whenever necessary.

What Makes Him Pure Good?[]

In General[]

  • Unlike virtually all the other Wells, he is an incredibly kind, humble, and optimistic man that pursued science purely out of altruism to improve the world and drastically benefit humanity. Unlike Harry Wells, he retained his kindness despite his grief for losing his wife.
  • Even if his plans to build S.T.A.R. Labs were stolen by Eobard Thawne, the laboratory still served as the base of operations for Team Flash.
  • Despite the high admirable standards of the Arrowverse, he stands out for doing the most he can after being dead for almost the entire franchise and only appearing for three episodes of a single show in it.

Past[]

  • When Tess Morgan died in the car crash, he was concerned about her welfare more than his own.

Season 7[]

  • After being revived and gaining the memories of every other Wells, he immediately went to introduce himself to Team Flash and help them in order to honor their memory.
  • He is responsible for reviving the Speed Force and restoring Barry's powers by reminding Barry that his heroism came from being the Paragon of Love, allowing Barry to realize a spark of the Speed Force remained within Iris that Team Flash used to restore it and his speed.
    • This allowed Team Flash to stop Eva McCulloch from condemning humanity on Earth-Prime (considered all that was left of the multiverse and an amalgamation of countless other Earths) to a fate worse than death in the Mirrorverse and all other threats thereafter.
  • He encouraged both Allegra and Cisco to continue following their own paths and ensuring that Team Flash didn't need a Harrison Wells as they were more than capable on their own.
  • He created a stable time loop to live out the four years he and his wife had together, preserving the timeline's integrity without ever having the temptation to alter it to save his loved ones despite his newfound powers.
  • He protected the timeline's integrity when Barry traveled back to the creation of the other forces in order to undo it, encasing a protective time bubble to ensure no other changes would happen.
  • His and the rest of Team Flash's warnings ultimately convince Barry to change his mind and not undo the other forces' creation.
  • On behalf of all Wells, he told Cisco that he had taught them as much as they all had taught him, if not more.

Season 9[]

  • He convinced Khione to ascend to become the guardian of the natural order and all things, allowing Caitlin to be restored.
