The Hero (or Heroine) is the main protagonist of the beloved Famicom game Dragon Quest III. They are a legendary warrior on a grand adventure to save two worlds from two demon lords.

- They selflessly refused the crown of a kingdom, preferring to stay humble.
- They helped a small boy accept his father's death.
- They helped a small transgender girl find herself.
- They created a version of America, without all the racism baggage.
- They defeated Baramos.
- They defeated Zoma, and brought in a new age of history with the people of Earth and the people of Alefgard seeing each other as one and the same.
- After sealing away the Dragonlord with the Ball of Light, they wrote on their tombstone a message to send their descendant on his quest.
