Ib, also known as Eve, is the titular main protagonist of the 2012 video game Ib and its 2022 remake. She is a young girl, whose life upon visiting an art gallery with her parents suddenly turns upside down, after encountering a mysterious mural in front of her.
This, in return, caused Ib to be trapped inside the Fabricated World, the mirrored version of the art gallery, where everything is considerably twisted, with paintings coming to life and will not hesitate to pursue anyone who visits it.
As a result, Ib now must proceed to find a way out of the Fabricated World, before she is trapped forever, with little chance of coming out alive.
What Makes her Pure Good?[]
- Lacks any corrupting factors. Oftentimes, she is notably caring and kind, especially towards Garry, and would go at lengths to protect herself, him, and even Mary, despite the latter's suspicious origins.
- Throughout the game, Ib forms a bond with Garry, as well as stopping him from being driven insane, which shows her kindhearted nature more.
- She helped out Garry in Red Area, who was seen unconscious, after his blue rose was munched upon by the Lady in Blue painting, and later healed it from a vase.
- She stopped Garry from kicking the mannequin head that appeared at their backs in the Gray Area's Mirror Room.
- Ib gives Garry's coat before leaving, instead of Garry taking it, at the safehouse after escaping the mannequins and the other paintings in the Gray Area.
- Ib answered to Garry's pleas when the lights were off in the "Separation" room in the Violet Area.
- When talking to Mary in a few instances, Ib never gives in to her enticement, such as when she refuses to believe that the Red Eyes is "pettable", even though it is seen as a green bunny in Ib's POV, whereas it is seen as a giant creepy doll in actuality. She also believes that she wants to go with Garry rather than being with her.
- After revealing Mary's true origins as one of Guertena's paintings, it is heavily implied that she felt some sympathy for her, when Garry proceeded to knock the painting out after almost getting killed.
- After getting shoved by Mary into the Toy Box, Ib told her condition to Garry, instead of ignoring him.
- During the final showdown with Mary, Ib kills the now-deranged girl by burning her painting's frame, albeit in a more regretful way. However, prior to the battle, Ib puts her emotions and feelings aside and dealt with the threat, which ended Mary's threat in the Fabricated World accordingly.
- When Garry's hand got injured by several glass shards coming from the painting, Ib gave her own handkerchief to Garry to heal his own wounds, which later played an important role when she escaped the Fabricated World.
- Because of her admirable actions throughout the game, as well as her bond with Garry, Ib and the latter have their memories of exploring the Fabricated World restored after exiting through. She and Garry would promise to reunite each other again in the meantime.
