Just because we're born from darkness, doesn't mean we belong to it. We're always free to choose. To believe what we want to believe.
~ Ink Joey comforting Audrey after revealing her nature as an ink creature.
The past doesn't define you. Nor the present. In the end, all those years ago, Joey Drew finally succeeded! He created life! But Audrey, you're so much more than that. You were his family. His daughter. My daughter. And I love you so very much.
~ Ink Joey comforting Audrey after she merges with the Ink Demon.

The ink replica of Joey Drew is the overarching protagonist of Bendy and the Dark Revival, the second installment of the Bendy franchise.

He's a self-described "memory" of the late founder of Joey Drew Studios which was created in the Cycle under unknown circumstances. He guides his "daughter", Audrey Drew, throughout the game and reveals the truth about her origins to her, as well as helps her defeat the Ink Demon.

He was voiced by Dave Rivas.

What Makes Him Pure Good?[]

  • While the real Joey Drew was an egotistical, spiteful and borderline sociopathic man who refused to accept something was his fault with all his motivational speeches being lies made to make himself look better, causing the events of the entire franchise out of his greed, Ink Joey is a genuinely kind and remorseful man who truly means it when he says a motivational quote to Audrey and wants to stop the Cycle and fix the mistakes his original version did.
  • Due to explicitly being said to not be the real Joey Drew, all of his horrible actions cannot count as preventions for him, especially since he genuinely regrets the things that the real Joey did despite not being at fault for it. And even if he was the real Joey, then not only did he redeem himself even before death, but he wants to make up for his mistakes and discover if he made the Cycle out of regret or revenge.
  • During his first encounter with Audrey, he motivates her and implies he would stop Wilson Arch and the Keepers himself if he could, but he can't.
  • He tells Audrey her origins as an ink creature created by the real Joey Drew to be his daughter, and comforts her by saying that she doesn't belong to darkness and has the right to choose whatever she wants.
  • When Audrey is fused with the Ink Demon to become Beast Bendy, he comforts her by saying he loves her and spends his last moments alive motivating her, with his death being the reason why Audrey gains the will to rebel against the Ink Demon and defeat him. While he isn't the only reason for the Ink Demon's defeat, he still stands out in comparison to Henry Stein, as Henry never sacrificed his life to stop him.
  • He influences his daughter even after death, as shown through her quoting him in the final scene.

Trivia[]

  • Ink Joey being Pure Good is quite ironic when one considers that, if Bendy and the Ink Machine was a standalone game, the original Joey might have been Pure Evil, although as of now he's Inconsistently Heinous.
  • It is theorized that Joey never felt remorse and that Ink Joey lied about it. That said, even under this interpretation Ink Joey could still remain Pure Good as he wouldn't want to hurt Audrey's feelings about her father hurting thousands of people and never regretting it.
