Jack is the titular main protagonist of the 2013 film Jack the Giant Slayer. He is a boy who lived with his uncle after his father's death.

He is portrayed by Nicholas Hoult, who voiced Fiver in Watership Down (the 2018 miniseries).

What Makes Him Pure Good?[]

  • While he thought Princess Isabelle was an ordinary woman, he protected her from men who tried to mess with her.
  • Although it seemed crazy that the beans were magic, he agreed to exchange them for the horse the monk needed to escape (although he was caught and killed by the evil Roderick).
    • Even after being scolded by his uncle, he still kept the beans.
  • He allowed Isabelle to take shelter in his house.
  • As the bean grew, he accidentally ripped off the princess' bracelet (which would let the royals know he was with her).
  • He joined a group of heroes who would save Isabelle.
  • While being forced to return the beans to Roderick, he secretly hides one (which would come in handy later).
  • He saved Elmont and Isabelle from a giant who tried to cook them, killing him.
    • He also asks Elmont what happened to Crawe and mourned him when he heard about his death.
  • When they discovered a giant guarding the bean, they had to cut him down (this also served for King Brahmwell to start cutting the bean and preventing the giants' invasion).
  • When Elmont preferred to stay behind to retrieve the crown, Jack gave him a dagger (which he would need to kill Roderick).
  • Finding that the giants used other beans to descend, he went after the royals to warn them.
  • During the final fight, he manages to defeat General Fallon by throwing the last bean into his mouth.
    • Furthermore, this was out of self-defense.
  • As soon as the giants managed to open the castle gate, Jack used the crown to send them away in addition to saving Isabelle from them.
    • The best part is that he could have used it to benefit himself, but he chose to use it to stop the war and protect humanity out of genuine concern.
  • In the end, he becomes king consort and tells the story to his children.
