Jack Cooper is the main protagonist of the 2016 video game Titanfall 2, which is the sequel to the 2014 video game.
Cooper serves as a Rifleman of the Frontier Militia and later an acting Pilot, who later becomes involved in the Frontier War in Typhon, after his mentor Tai Lastimosa was killed in the ensuing conflict against the Apex Predators and its leader Kuben Blisk. He participated in Operation: Broadsword, where he stationed on Typhon with his Titan, BT-7274, and was a key player in thwarting the IMC's genocidal intentions to use the Fold Weapon on Harmony, saving many lives in the process. At the end of the game, Cooper was later promoted as a Pilot for his heroic actions.
Cooper was voiced by Matthew Mercer.
What Makes him Pure Good?[]
- In the first part of the game, after his mentor Tai Lastimosa was killed by Ash, Cooper would later give his deceased mentor a proper burial, even though it was a crude one, and close to a war-torn part of Typhon. This shows that he honours his own mentor after his death, and was willing to pay respects for him, despite the chaos that went on.
- Cooper would further honour Lastimosa as he becomes the successor as BT-7274's pilot and continued on his legacy to stop the IMC.
- Throughout the game, Cooper would go at such lengths to stop the IMC's plans of using the Fold Weapon and fought his way to defeat the IMC troops and Apex Predators. He would also helped the Militia guarding the Interstellar Beacon, and would proceed to fix it, which gave the Militia a significant advantage against the invading IMC troops approaching the beacon.
- Near the end of the game, Cooper, who is inside BT's near-destroyed chassis, would attempt to sacrifice himself by dropping into the Fold Weapon's core, where he was later ejected out of the core by the Titan.
- Cooper later emotionally called BT's name for one last time after the Titan reached the weapon's core, effectively destroying the Titan and the weapon at the same time, as well as Typhon. This showed that Cooper has a degree of empathy upon seeing his protector's sacrifice, despite BT being an Artificial Intelligence, who was only programmed to protect him.
- Cooper's selflessness and bravery of saving his home planet of Harmony from the IMC is what secured him and the Militia's major victory, as well as preventing countless lives in Harmony from being killed, and other planets from destruction through the Fold Weapon, making his actions heroic.
- Cooper shows off as snappy and rude, and even sarcastic, initially in the game. However, these following corrupting factors mentioned are considered minor, as he later sheds it over the course of the game.
- While Cooper killed several of the members of the Apex Predators and IMC troops along the way, he does so in a more righteous way given that a huge war continued onward, as the IMC were responsible for making lives of the Frontier's citizens miserable after the corporation's victory against them, and with the corporation orchestrating a genocide against Harmony and the countless planets they can target with the Fold Weapon. This makes him more of a righteous killer than a lethal killer.
