“ | You're all hard work and deadlines, and I'm all snowballs and fun times. | „ |
~ Jack showing how he differs from the Guardians |
“ | Darkness. That's first thing I remember. It was dark, it was cold, and I was scared. But then... then I saw the Moon. It was so big, and it was so bright. It seemed to, chase the darkness away. And when it did... I wasn't scared anymore. Why I was there and what I was meant to do, that I've never known, and a part of me wonders if I ever will. | „ |

Jackson Overland "Jack" Frost is the main protagonist of the 2012 film Rise of the Guardians.
He is voiced by Chris Pine who also voiced Ultimate Spider-Man in the Spider-Verse films.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- In the past when he was still a human, one day he went playing in the ice with his sister but realized the ice was cracking. Throughout this he kept trying to console his sister while slowly tiptoeing to her until he got her out of the cracked zone, at the consequence of he himself falling and drowning. This inspired Manny to revive him as Jack Frost, the Spirit of Winter.
- Throughout the centuries, he brought snow days to humans and even accidentally caused a strong blizzard on easter of 68, an accident which Bunny resents him for, though Jack is deeply remorseful for.
- In the modern day, Jack uses his powers to help Jamie and his friends have a snow day.
- Though incredolous and reluctant at first, he agreed to help the Guardians after North talked with him about his "center".
- He and the others then went to help Tootiana who was being attacked by Pitch Black who later stole the fairies and the children's teeth, though Jack was able to save one of them called Baby Tooth.
- He and the guardians then spent a whole night collecting children's teeth to prevent Pitch's schemes from escalating, ultimately meeting up in Jamie's room.
- When he and Sandy noticed Ptch Black's nightmares and proceeded to chase them across the town, before Jack realized they had flown into a trap.
- Pitch then killed Sandy by shooting him with a dark arrow, which caused Jack to angrily attack Pitch with a massive ice attack that froze all his nightmares and forced him to retreat. The guardians then mourned Sandy and held a small funeral for him.
- In order to restore belief, the Guardians decided to help Bunny organize the best easter yet.
- When Sophie followed them through one of North's portals unlike the other guardians who saw her as a disturbance in their process, Jack bonded with her and helped the guardians around her, which taught all of them how to reconnect with the children they wanted to inspire.
- He and the others then made all the preparations for easter, by painting thousands of eggs and making amends with Bunny over their past dislike for each other.
- He then took Sophie safely back home, however he was met with a voice calling his name and chose to follow it, arriving at Pitch's lair.
- He fought Pitch by himself despite being mentally weakened by how Pitch preyed on his insecurities and lack of identity, even offering to give him his memories if he left the guardians, though Jack refused.
- Realizing Pitch had been distracting him, he returned only to find that the children's belief in Bunny and Easter had been lost. A guilt-ridden Jack then fled into the Antartica where he was approached by Pitch who offered a team up between them, noting they both wanted to be seen. However, Jack refused acknowldeging that he wanted to be believed in through hope instead of fear like Pitch intended. The Boogeyman then revealed he had Baby Tooth as a prisioner and threatened to kill her if Jack didn't surrender his staff, which he did to save the fairy's life.
- After Baby Tooth convinced him to see his memories and learn of who he once was, he's motivated by his past family and newfound belief, he fixes his staff and then leaves to help the guardians.
- Upon trying to free the fairies, he realized that hey could no longer fly due to children no longer believing.
- He headed to Jamie's house, who was the last believer and kept his hope alive by drawing eggs and bunnies on the window with his ice to make Jamie believe in the Easter Bunny, and ended up gaining his first believer in Jamie.
- He then met up with the guardians and apologized, making amends with them though they were all tremendously weakened due to the lack of believers.
- Jack then realized that his "center" was fun, and so went around the neighborhood gathering all of Jamie's friends and giving them back their beliefs one by one, making the guardians gain their strength back, all while evading Pitch's nightmares.
- His actions allowed all the kids to belive again and have fun instead of fear, which caused Jamie to stand up to Pitch giving the guardians their magic back and also allowing Sandy to come back to life.
- He and the others then tracked Pitch down to a frozen lake, where his own nightmares took him out as he was afraid while the guardians had overcomed their fears.
- He accepted his role as Guardian of Fun and bid goodbye to the children telling them to keep hoping and believing before leaving with the others to protect all the children of the world.
- Even though he was severely mischievous and accidentally endangered Jamie's life, by the end of the film, he has shed his mischief, as while he still can act a bit mischievous to others, it's all in good fun and he never does anything that could actually hurt someone emotionally or physically. By the end of the movie his mischief is more than anything a part of his "center" and a defining trait as the Guardian of Fun.
- While the other guardians are certainly very admirable, Jack stands out the most, mainly because he was the one who gave belief back to all the children of Burgess, while also erasing Pitch's nightmares and showing them they didn't need to be afraid (which is what led to Pitch's defeat in the first place) which allowed all the other guardians to regain their strength and fight back against the remaining nightmares, even bringing Sandy back from his death.
