Jen is the main protagonist of The Dark Crystal franchise. He is a Gelfling whose clan was killed by the evil Skeksis. He was taken in by the gentle Mystics and is sent on a journey by his dying master to save his home planet.
He was performed by the late Jim Henson, with Stephen Garlick providing his voice.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- He rejected the SkekSil's offer who was trying to manipulate him, take him to the crystal castle and plan to kill him along with Kira.
- He, alongside Kira, rescued a family of Podlings who were kidnapped by the Garthim.
- Although he threw the shard of the crystal away, it was understandable because he was upset about the Garthim attacking those that he meets.
- He healed the crystal by returning the lost fragment and to restore his life and make the mystics and skeksis become one.
- When he became king, he managed to bring back the gelflings and start many families.
- He managed to imprison Skeksis (except the Chamberlain) who were attacking the castle and the gelfling guards, using a magic staff.
- He helped Kensho retrieve the crystal shard that was stuck in the trees in order to save Kira's life.
- He assisted Kensho and Thurma in restoring the Crystal of Truth and stopping the Skeksis from attacking the Gelfling civilization again.
- He supported his and Kira's guards to fight against the Skeksis.
- He thanked Thurma for healing the crystal, make the UrRu and Skeksis merge into one again and bringing Thra back to life and its degradation, before leaving alongside with the urSkeks.
- In the comic of The Power of the Dark Crystal, although he accidentally hit Kensho when he asked his Garthim to stop, he didn't want to do it on purpose and it was just a heating-up period.
