Joseph Turner is a major character in the 2017 video game Call of Duty: WWII. He is a lieutenant of the 1st Platoon, 1st Infantry Division who fights alongside Ronald "Red" Daniels, Robert Zussman, William Pierson, Frank Aiello and Drew Stiles.
He is voiced by Jeffrey Pierce.
What Makes Him Pure Good?[]
- As his platoon approaches the beaches of Normandy, he provides his squad mates with positive support and assurance that they will make it through alive if they stick to what they learned in Basic Training.
- After taking back the beaches of Normandy from Nazi occupation, he warmly assures Ronald "Red" Daniels that everything will be okay.
- He continues to fight in helping to liberate France from Nazi occupation, destroying Germany planes and artillery in Marigny, and assisting the S.O.E. in Paris.
- As his platoon makes it into Germany, they fight against the Nazis in Aachen to secure a hotel, and disobeys Colonel Davis's orders to rescue German civilians in the basement. Furthermore, he had planned to escort them away from the hotel, until they get shot at and are forced to flee.
- In the Hürtgen Forest, after he is separated from Pierson and Zussman, he keeps Daniels assured not to lose hope. When he learns that Pierson had left them behind, he harshly confronts him over it.
- When Daniels gets injured after destroying multiple Tiger tanks, he tries to get him back on his feet, before being wounded. As he is bleeding to death, he orders his squad to leave him behind, for their safety. As his platoon reluctantly agree, he makes his last stand against Nazi reinforcements, which buys time for his men to escape.
- He posthumously has an impact on Daniels through his motto "no mission too difficult, no sacrifice too great." This inspires him to put his men first, and is part of the reason that he remained so determined to rescue Zussman after capture.
