Jun Himeya is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Ren Senjyu) of Ultraman Nexus. He is the second human to become a Deunamist, following Shunichi Maki.

What makes him Pure Good

In general

• Despite initially considering becoming Nexus’ host as punishment, he eventually came to except his role as Earth’s protector after realizing his powers were meant to help him protect the people that he cared about.

As Himself

• Prior to becoming Ultraman, he used to be war correspondent for the Daily News Agency, one with a strong sense of justice and ambition.
• Upon being  rescued by a local disaster victim named  "Serra" after getting seriously injured in a battlefield, he immediately began hanging out with her and developing a sibling bond with her.
• Upon noticing Serra was looking for him while he was taking photos in the battlefield, he futilely tried to alert her before she could get killed.
• Despite the fact that his this photos he took exposed the horrors of the war he was in, he still felt guilty and remorseful for failing to save  Serra from getting killed as  he felt him prioritizing taking the pictures over getting her to safety were what ultimately caused her death in the first place.
• Before dying, he reassured Kommon that the light was a bond and that eventually another person would inherit it and make it shine again.

As Nexus

• Prior to the series, he defeated Galberos.
• In episode 1, he saved Kommon from Pedoleon.
• in episode 2, he saved two humans from getting eaten by Pedoleon.
• In episode 4, he defeated Pedoleon.
• in episode 5, he defeated Bugbuzzon.
• In episode 10, he saved the night raiders from crashing their ship as they got out of his dimension.
• in episode 16, he helped Komon defeat Nosferu for good.
