Kanata Asumi is the main protagonist of Ultraman Decker. Once a store worker, he later went on to become Ultraman Decker’s human host and become a member of GUTS-Select after the Sphere began their invasion.
He is played by Hiroki Matsumoto

- While dropping one of his grandfathers customers at the spaceport in Sorafune City, he briefly tried offering some of his rice cakes to Ichika
- Rather than evacuating , he instead chose to help Ichika and Soma Ryumon save girl who was stuck under some rouble.
- Upon noticing that a sphere was going to attack Ichika, he pushed her out of the way, saving her in the process. Following this, he later began using one of Ichikia and Soma’s guns in order to distract the spheres and lead them away from the two.
- Following the sphere’s first attack, he later went on to join GUTS select after being offered it by Taiji Murahoshi, albeit with some encouragement from his grandfather as he initially didn’t want to leave him to run his shop by himself.
- After Deathrago’s defeat, he later helped Ichika and Soma tend to the injured people who had evacuated
- As Pagos was going on a rampage, he helped a factory worker get to safety
- Upon finding Soma injured, he brought him back to GUTS selects base so that he could be nursed back to health
- Before transforming into Decjer to fight Pagos, he had Ichika help an elderly woman evacuate
- Upon noticing “Agams” (Yapool in disguise) injured on the floor after his battle with him, he briefly tried to save him
- Upon realizing that the President of the Scitech Laboratory Holdings was using the carcass of dead sphere as weapon, he instantly tried talking him out of it
- Upon Ichika admit she felt it was unfair taht he had to fight all alone, he reassured her he wasn’

- In episode 1, he defeated Sphereosaurus
- In episode 2, he defeated Deathdrago
- In episode 3, he defeated Sphere Gomora
- In episode 4, he defeated Mons-Aghar (with the help of HANE2) and helped the hot water of Hot water springs flow again
- In episode 5, he managed to help revert Alien Pitt’s pet Eleking Elly back to normal size so that he couldn’t steal any more electricity

- In episode 8, he helped Carmerra and Trigegr/Kengo defeat Sphere Megalothor

- Additionally, he also saved Gregore “Grace” from sacrificing h8 self by summoning the capsule monsters to pull him away

- In episode 25, he defeated Mother Sphere and prevented her from assimilating the universe. Additionally, because of this, the barrier she covered over Earth with was destroyed alongside the other spheres, allowing the people who took the trip to mars to finally reunite with their family.

While piloting Terraphaser[]
- Sacrificed himself by using himself as shield in order to save Dinas from getting hit by powerful beam from Gibellus/ Zor-Gigalogaiser, temporarily dying in the process.
As Decker[]
- Defeated Professor Gibellus, thus preventing him from being able to conquer Earth and the universe.
- Additionally, by doing this, he also helped bring back all the souls of the humans he took, all while preventing him from combining them with monster souls in order to make a monster army.

- Him and Ultraman Trigger are only World of Eternity Core heroes to be Pure Good.
- He is the very first human host in the reiwa era to be Pure Good
