Karen is the deuteragonist in the animated Rankin-Bass special Frosty the Snowman. She is a cheerful young girl who helps build Frosty and befriends him when he comes to life, helping him get to the North Pole.
She was voiced by the late June Foray.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
- She's quick to befriend Frosty and does her best to protect him from Hinkle.
- She calls out Hinkle for his selfishness, pointing out that he willingly gave up his hat and Frosty will die without it.
- She notices the temperature is rising, and comes up with a plan to get Frosty to the North Pole so he'll be safe.
- She defends Frosty when he's harassed by a police officer.
- She helps Frosty stow away in the dessert cabin of a train, where it's cold.
- She's willing to go all the way to the North Pole to ensure Frosty's safety and help him escape from Hinkle, even though this puts her health at risk.
- She mourns Frosty when he melts and is overjoyed when Santa revives him.
- She seems to forgive Hinkle along with Santa when he agrees to apologize to her and Frosty.
