Khumba is the titular protagonist of the South-African computer-animated film that has the same name. He's a young zebra born with only half his stripes on the top half of his body like a quagga. He is voiced Jake T. Austin.

What Makes Him Pure Good[]

  • From the beginning he's shown to be very kind-hearted. He shares his food with his mother and also shares his water with the goats even despite his father doesn't approve such gestures.
  • While he does want to change, it's only because half-stripped zebras are seen as bad signs and not out of selfish reasons like Phango.
  • When he meets Mama V and Bradley, he's quite polite to them.
  • While he did damage the cars of humans, it's because he saw them as a threat.
  • He doesn't show any prejudice towards the Black Eagle, as he knows very well what is it to be different.
  • When he knows that the water that is supposed to give him his missing stripes is located in Phango's cave, he doesn't abandon his mission.
  • When he sees water in the abandoned farm, he lets Mama V and Bradley to drink first.
  • He fights Nora the sheep, who was attacking him and tries to persuade her that they only need water.
  • He apologizes to Mama V and Bradley for not telling them about where exactly they were going.
  • He fights Phango and gives him a chance of redemption, which Phango refuces and while Phango was killed by Khumba from the certain point of view, it's only because Phango tried to kill him and Khumba wasn't given any other alternatives.
  • He accepts his difference from his clan.
  • His actions indirectly finish the drought.
