Ki is the tritagonist of Disney/ImageMovers Digital co-produced 2011 animated feature film, Mars Needs Moms. She is a member of a race of female-led Martians, residing secretly on the cold surface of the planet Mars. Ki lived much of her life under the close servitude of the tyrannical female Martian leader called the Supervisor.
She is played by Elisabeth Harnois.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
- Unlike the other female Martians, Ki was friendly with others, including humans.
- Even after Milo ran away from her just to not waste any more time, she still continued to be friendly with him.
- Although she helped the Supervisor kidnap Milo's mother, this was because like the other female Martians, she thought Martians were raised by machines. Not to mention, she didn't like the idea of kidnapping.
- Although she knew that the Supervisor didn't like the art, she still did it because she loved it.
- She mentioned to Milo that she had seen human artists making art, making the reason why she was also an artist.
- She saved Milo when he lost his balance and upon discovering he was human, she didn't try to turn him over to the Supervisor.
- Instead of shooting Milo and Gribble, she offered them the gun so they could escape.
- She was the first Martian (at least at present) to learn what love and family are.
- Like Gribble, she agreed to help Milo save his mother and along the way, she pretended to be arresting the two and then put the guards to sleep.
- She felt sorry for the newborns of different genders being separated (and felt more sorry for the males being thrown away where they would be alone).
- Although she couldn't stop the ship from taking off ahead of time, she at least managed to bring it back just as they needed to leave.
- She showed the Martians that they used to be raised by family instead of machines, causing them to redeem themselves and turn against the Supervisor (who had lied to them for many years).
- She made changes on Mars such as convincing female Martians to use others in costumes, make art, not to put the males in the trash, and start raising babies (both genders) on their own instead of using robots (which have now been thrown away as they are no longer good for anything).
- She allowed scientists to discover the Martians, thus proving that the theory is right about there being life on Mars.
