Lady is the titular female deuteragonist of Disney's 15th full-length animated feature film Lady and the Tramp, and a minor character in its direct-to-video sequel Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure.
She is the pet of Jim Dear & Darling, the wife of Tramp, the mother of Scamp, Annette, Collette and Danielle. She is a beautiful and elegant cocker spaniel.
In the first film, she was voiced by the late Barbara Luddy. In the second film, she was voiced by Jodi Benson (who also voices Ariel).
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- She is a responsible and caring wife and mother. She is arguably even more caring towards her son Scamp than Tramp.
- She is always willing to protect her owners, Aunt Sarah, and her house from the rat.
- While she starts as being mischievous and naive, she becomes more mature over the course of the first movie.
Lady and the Tramp[]
- When spotting the rat, she causes the rat to away from the yard in order to defend the house and her owners in it, which she successfully did.
- She shows her new collar to Trusty and Jock, whom the two congratulate her for getting a new collar.
- She also shows some sympathy towards Trusty, when Jock tells her that Trusty lost his smell, but promises Jock not to tell Trusty about that.
- She cares for her owners' child, despite the fact that he has partially displaced her from her owners' attention until they show her the baby.
- Unlike Trusty or Jock, she never shows any prejudice towards the Tramp. On the contrary to the two stubborn dogs, she is the only pet dog who shows care to him.
- She prevented the cats from stealing the baby's milk, though unfortunately, this leads to her being blamed and muzzle by Aunt Sarah.
- When the Tramp invites her to escape, she willingly decides to return home. She decides to do so, despite Aunt Sarah's cruel attitude towards her.
- She tries unsuccessfully to chase the rat out of the yard. Although she is aggressive towards the rat, she considers the rat a threat (especially since the rat actually turns out to be a threat to the society).
- She breaks free from the chain to go to help the Tramp save the baby. Early, she informs Tramp that the rat went into Jim Jr’s room and because of her, this causes Tramp to save Jim Jr by killing the rat.
- When Aunt Sarah locks her and Tramp in separate rooms and when Tramp is taken to a dog shelter, Lady, being freed by her owners, immediately shows them the dead rat, thus proving his innocence. Because of this, it leads to Trusty and Jock rushing to help Tramp, although they did not like him before.
- Lady and her owners also rush to help Tramp, as a result of Trusty and Jock stopping the wagon.
- She rushed to the wagon where she reunited with Tramp before they hear that Trusty was nearly killed by the wagon, implying that she feels sorry for Trusty.
Lady And Tramp 2: Adventures Of Scamp[]
- When she finds out that her son Scamp escaped, she does her best to find him and goes with her family to try and find him.
- When Tramp and Scamp came back with Angel, Trusty and Jock, she along with her kids, Jim Jr, Jim, and Darling all reunited with Tramp and Scamp, before adopting Angel.
